The likely reason Alec Peters will not play with Team Hines is that he just signed a new contract yesterday with Baskonia, a top level pro team in Spain.

Meanwhile, the Peoria All-Stars are now down 63-46. Team Hines has been hot all game, and the Peoria All Stars aren't playing very good defense. As a Standby Team, maybe they didn't have a chance to practice and prepare as much as the teams who have known they were playing weeks ago. Also, it appears the Peoria team lacks outside shooting. They could have used Nate Kennell.

The Peoria All-Stars are eliminated in the first round by Herd That.
Final score- Team Herd 80 Peoria All-Stars 65

Stats are not available, but I am guessing Peoria's shooting percentage was not very good.

Well, that was disappointing. I was hoping to see our guys play a little longer as I have no interest in the tournament without them in it. Ah well, it was nice to see our boys Luqman and Koch on the court again at least! If only they had had more time to practice together. I'm sure their late entry didn't help their chances any.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

The Basketball Tournament ended tonight with the Golden Eagles (Marquette alumni) beating Sideline Cancer 78-73-

It was a terrific game, as many of the games were. The Golden Eagles won the game with a 3-pointer by 38-year old Travis Diener (2005 Marquette grad), his only basket of the game. By the way, Brian Wardle was a Marquette assistant coach from 2003-2005.
One of Sideline Cancer's key players was former Bradley commit Remy Abell, who had 14 points tonight. And the Golden Eagles also featured a former Bradley commit, Dwayne Buycks (15 points), as well as another recruit, Darius Johnson-Odom (15 points), who visited BU and told Coach Jim Les he would commit, but he wanted to go home and talk to his family first. He never did commit, and eventually got an offer from Marquette and like Buycks, went on to have a fine career at Marquette. The Golden Eagles take home this year's prize of $1,000,000.
