First question to Bryan Mullins was from Todd Hefferman, the SIU beat writer at TheSouthern.com. He asked when Ronnie Suggs would be arriving on campus.
Ronnie is finishing classes at Missouri to get the credits to graduate to qualify as a grad-transfer. Mullins says he will arrive in Carbondale in late July.

Mullins said they are still waiting on a decision regarding a waiver for immediate eligibility for Nebraska transfer Karrington Davis.
Davis spent last season at Nebraska, but redshirted due to an achilles injury, and he also suffered a hip labrum injury and missed his senior year in high school.

The final speaker is MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin. He says the MVC is in great shape financially, and he expects that to continue with the corporate sponsorships and TV packages that continue for multiple years. He boasted about the success of the MVC Tournament in St. Louis, and is now answering questions from media.

He wants members to strengthen their non-conference schedules. He cites several new home-and-home series by MVC members, but omits the Bradley-St. Joseph's series that is proposed to start this coming season. Probably the contract is not completely finalized yet.

Elgin says Every MVC men's and women's basketball game in 2019-20 will be televised on either one of the streaming platforms (ESPN+ or ESPN3), or "linear broadcasts", which means broadcast TV (air, satellite, or cable, not streaming).
He did not go into detail about specifics.

Interesting that no questions were asked about the large drop in conference RPI last season.

Where is Dave Reynolds? Is he still the BU beat writer or has the PJS simply given up on any reasonable Bradley coverage? The PJS Sports Editor is never around any Bradley Basketball coverage....Cummon Gatehouse...Get off the dime and start covering the major local Peoria sports interest....Bradley Basketball!!!

I think he asked one question in that whole teleconference and none of the Bradley coach Brian Wardle
Maybe he's not our beat writer any more - maybe he doesn't want to be??
He's been writing on other topics like Weaver Ridge sale and public swimming pools.

Mullins also had some pretty nice words about Ronnie Suggs and sounds like he's gonna get some playing time there

He also says Tremell Murphy is still recovering from an injury, and Bradley Ernst, transfer from Florida Gulf Coast is still recovering from knee surgery he had 2 weeks ago. DeVries admits Ernst's "knees are in pretty bad shape".

Also, Drake is still waiting on a final appeal (it was denied initially) to try to get another year for Nick Norton...
The final appeal by Drake on behalf of Nick Norton has been denied. The case is closed, and Norton's college career is over.
Drake had appealed to the NCAA to grant a 6th year for Norton to come back and play this coming season after his knee injury (ACL tear) ended his grad-transfer season after 14 games. Drake head coach Darian DeVries had already used up all 13 scholarships for next year, so he knew it wasn't likely the NCAA would reverse themselves. It would have been interesting if they had. One of their players would have possibly lost their scholarship.

Norton was going to pay his own way had he been granted an extra season.

No surprise that he wasn’t granted another season....didn’t see any possible way under the NCAA guidelines.....he played 3 full seasons + 14 games of a 4th season.
