Finland wins their Sunday game in Latvia 77-62 - no individual stats yet
Suomen haastajamaajoukkue kohtasi sunnuntaina Latvian Riikassa. Vielä ottelun puolessa välissä Latvia oli niskan päällä, mutta Suomi pusersi lopulta 77-62 -voiton. Seuraavaksi Suomi kohtaa Riikassa maanantaina Ukrainan. Haastajamaajoukkue valmistautuu kesän 2019 universiadeihin, jotka pelataan 3.-11. heinäkuuta Italian Napolissa.

Ville is still listed as being on the World University roster...so I do not know why he did not play any minutes in either of those games earlier this week..
I sure hope it is not due to injury

they next play vs. Canada on June 27 and again on June 28
Then they begin the actual World University Games competition on July 4 vs. USA (Clemson)

Ville is not listed on the roster of either the National U18 or National U20 teams

                Good news....
Finland National team that is headed for the World University Games
CLOBBERED Canada today in the tuneup game 103-85, and Ville had 13 points on 5-9 including 3-5 from 3-pt range
...he also had 3 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a rebound - all in just 18 minutes
Only 3 players played more as the Finnish team spreads the minutes around - the Finnish team was led by Ville's league teammate Mikael Jantunen with 23
Munis Tutu had 15 for Canada

The same teams play again tomorrow

update - a week before they are to play, Clemson has a setback -
during one of their practices for this exhibition tour- one of their more experienced returning players,
Clyde Trapp, just tore his ACL and is feared will be out for the entire upcoming season.
One of the serious risks of running a lot of intense practices during the summer...

Injuries can happen at any point, but I would not be upset if Ville decides to stop playing and come to Peoria. Would had to have to major injuries to foreign commits.

                          Interesting....
when Clemson (Finland's opponent at 1pm today) got to Italy, they played a friendly, warm-up exhibition game on Monday against the host Italian team
                          ...and THEY LOST 73-71!

1st quarter score Finland trails 21-11
Ville has 2 pts thus far

unfortunately none of the group play games are being streamed- only when they get to quarterfinals
