UIC to hire Texas assistant Luke Yaklich. He has also been an assistant at Michigan and Illinois State. He did not play college basketball but was a student manager for the Illinois State team in the late 1990s.

I would wheel in Ron to some games. Yes he suffered from Parkinson's but was a dedicated BU fan until the end. Too bad he passed before seeing the recent success. He was more optimistic than me!

Korn should receive a nice welcome when he brings SEMO to SIU, assuming they continue to schedule each other. They played this past season at SIU so, if the series continues, it will be in 2021-22 that SEMO plays at SIU. Korn played three seasons for Bruce Weber and one for Matt Painter.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

2 new coaching jobs just opened, both in the SWAC conference:
Alcorn State's Head Coach Montez Robinson's contract was not renewed. He was 69-86 in 5 seasons-

Alabama State parts ways with head coach Lewis Jackson. He was 207-262 in 15 seasons. They were 8-24 this past season.

He left in 2004 to take the head coaching job at Princeton. He was also head coach at Denver, and an assistant at Holy Cross and Georgia.

One other coaching change of significance....
Tarleton State University is a Division II school that will join Division I officially on July 1, 2020. They just replaced their head coach, naming Billy Gillispie as their new head coach-

Billie Gillispie is a former assistant coach at Tulsa and Illinois under Bill Self. He has been the head coach previously at UTEP, Texas A&M, Kentucky, and Texas Tech. He has had issues of player abuse and NCAA violations in his past, as well as a history of alcohol abuse and multiple arrests for DUI. But he is also known as a superb recruiter, and he has a history of winning, so Tarleton State is rolling the dice.

One D1 head coach who many thought was on the "hot seat" this season was Dave Leitao of DePaul. But despite going just 3-15 in the Big East and finishing in last place for the 4th straight season, Leitao just got a contract extension through 2023-24 from DePaul. Leitao is a good guy and it's nice for him, but DePaul fans are not too happy with this.

I heard Janet Glasser was the President at DePaul now.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
