Bradley with a 5th place finish, JUST A THREAD behind 3rd (SIU) and 4th (MSU)
and thanks Dr. Chris Reynolds, Coaches Brian Wardle, Andrea Gorski, Carol Price-Torok and all the other BU Athletic coaches & staff!
This is the 2nd time in the past 4 years that's Bradley's success in the All Sports Trophy race has bested the BEST in the past 30 years - LINK
Note that the private schools are always at a substantial disadvantage because of how costly it is to sponsor the lesser sports, so schools like Bradley cannot pick up points in those sports, but the state schools that get taxpayer money can still sponsor money-losing sports and gain in the standings as a result.
PLUS - winning the MVC Basketball Tourney did NOT gain Bradley any points in the standings because the way it is set up, all the points go to the regular season champ. No private school has won the All Sports trophy in over 25 years. The fact that Bradley is in the TOP 5 and almost in the TOP 3 is unprecedented!
**ps - and I think we're gonna be even better next year!
