Here's the scoring and rebounding that returns for each MVC team- but there could still be more turnover...
and of course - the production of the new guys will be key.....
Northern Iowa returns 80.5% of scoring, 80.2% of rebounding- almost everyone except Lohaus returns
Bradley returns 69.8% of scoring, 55.8% of rebounding - top three scorers & 2 of top 3 rebounders return
Indiana State returns 66.0% of scoring, 49.2% of rebounding - top two scorers return
Evansville returns 56.6% of scoring, 62.2% of rebounding - top scorer returns
Loyola returns 54.1% of scoring, 60.5% of rebounding - three starters & top sub return
Drake returns 52.9% of scoring, 51.3% of rebounding - would be huge if the get Nick Norton back
Missouri State returns 49.4% of scoring, 52.2% of rebounding - lose 3 starters and had very little bench production
Valparaiso returns 40.1% of scoring, 35.7% of rebounding - they'd be down by ISU if Javon Freeman left
Southern Illinois returns 29.3% of scoring, 24.7% of rebounding - 2 starters, Cook & McGill, are about all they have returning
Illinois State returns 22.3% of scoring, 36.2% of rebounding- Even Dan Muller will need a lineup card to know who is on the floor
.....they may even have to start two walk-ons - Donnelly might be their point guard, Chastain could be their top returnee & rebounder
and conference-wide about 53.3% of scoring returns & about 50.8% of overall rebounding from 2018-19
Time will tell - but I think in the fall when the preseason previews and predictions come out and when the MVC Preseason Poll
results are known - we'll see the teams with the most returning production picked at the top. In 2018-19, newcomers were somewhat instrumental in determining the Valley outcome. (Da Silva, Ellingson, Green, Murphy, Freeman, Berhow...) altho the big majority of the impact players and those who landed on the All-Valley Teams were guys we knew were returning.
The teams picked in the upper half of the Valley should be Loyola, Drake, Bradley, Missouri State & UNI, then the next tier- Indiana State, Evansville, then Valpo. SIU and ISU picked as rebuilding projects...
