Sean Houpt is a terrific shooter.
      Videos-

Sean has a younger sister Erin, who is a sophomore at Danville HS, and who is also quite a basketball player-

(Coach Gorski, we need to recruit Sean's sister!)

One more impressive thing about Sean Houpt- he is a straight A, 4.0 GPA student at Danville. He will love Bradley, and his GPA will help boost the already spectacular team academic successes!

And Sean's father, Ted Houpt just recently resigned as the head boys basketball coach at Danville HS. He will continue to teach there, but wanted more time to follow Sean's college basketball career.

I think this is a good thing....we could use some help at guard next season....does preffered walk on mean full ride down the road?

I don't think any decision has been made. It is similar to Pete Hanley, who did earn a scholarship his last semester. But with his strong academics, Sean will get a lot of scholarship help from Bradley.
I believe the term "preferred" just means that he was invited to join the team, and will not need to try out.

Welcome to the Hilltop! Exciting times! Let's get it!

He has a legit chance to fight for minutes given there's 5 other guards. He can get on campus and get acclimated earlier than Ville who will be in Europe all summer.

and perhaps this gives us a little help with one of our prime Class of 2021 recruiting targets -
Sean's Danville HS teammate Tevin Smith - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...933#post485933
Tevin is one of only two current 2021 offers we have been tracking - LINK
...altho I have a feeling (and you will too if you watch this video of Tevin Smith - LINK) that Tevin may get a lot of other offers.

I have a good feeling about Sean. Bright and I am sure hard work ethic. Can never have enough shooters. Welcome to the team!

He looks (although from a highlight video) to be the kind of shooter we have needed more of for years. I would guess that the only thing holding him back from getting a scholarship at this level is strength and athleticism. So hopefully he can add to each once he starts working with the S&C staff.

Maybe the worthless Peoria Journal Star has decided to just give up and abandon their coverage of Bradley basketball altogether?
Bradley landed a verbal commitment from a stellar prep player right here in Central Illinoi yesterday, the news is easily found all over twitter, it's being reported by high school and college recruiting writers in Chicago and all over the state of Illinois, it was tweeted yesterday PM by his AAU coach with the Illinois Irish (Gavin Sullivan), and even tweeted by former PJ Star sports writer Aaron Ferguson. Yet, the PJ Star beat writer assigned to cover Bradley basketball has not posted a word about it. He hasn't reported or tweeted about this. In fact, the beat writer hasn't even tweeted in nearly a week. And there is no mention of Sean Houpt's commitment anywhere in either the print version of the PJ Star, nor anywhere on the online version.
Can anyone explain why the local "newspaper" is not bothering to report this news or report anything about future Bradley Brave Sean Houpt?

Dave Reynolds is covering the weather now for PJS - https://www.pjstar.com/news/20190505...28-feet-monday
He's also been writing some entiries for a blog - https://maroonpr.com/2019/05/06/peor...ith-jim-thome/

so maybe he's been taken off the sports coverage? Kirk stepped down from PJS sports to write press releases for OSF.
I don't doubt that they are both very good at what they do but something really weird is up...

it's like -- what if I called a knee surgeon and was told that after doing that for 30 years, he doesn't do that any more and he's working now as a pizza delivery guy - that would be a pretty strange thing.....
