to his credit he did graduate in five years plus summers - at two different schools
    https://twitter.com/Redbird_MBB/stat...26654198259714

he still has two cases pending in court - one for pushing his 18-year old girlfriend down the stairs during an argument...
and the other for running down another woman pedestrian then taking off and leaving her lying there...
....it will be interesting to see if he stays around to appear in court or ditches town like so many other ISU players who
went off to play pro ball & had charges pending & failed to bother to show in court.

Interestingly, the girlfriend, who also got charged because she damaged his cell phone, had also been given supervision but
failed to keep her court review dates and has had a Petition to Revoke Supervision, had charges re-instated and has failed to pay her fines & court charges.

btw- I know ISU fans read here ...

so I have a question...whatever happened to ISU star Deontae Hawkins?
Of course we know he left ISU to play at Boston College in 2017-18 but then he only played 8 games and his season ended with injury-
so he almost surely could have petitioned NCAA and gotten a medical redshirt and been able to play in 2018-19 - right?

But instead, he left, signed with an agent and said he was going to go play pro - https://247sports.com/college/boston...Pro-118799425/

but then that's about the last of him seen anywhere - he does not appear to have played nor been on anyone's roster in 2018-19 anywhere in any nation.
        So what happened?

Hawkins spent 4 years at ISU, though his first year (2013-14) he was ineligible due to academics-
Deontae Hawkins (23) Forward - Awards All-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team (2017) Missouri Valley Conference Most-Improved Team (2017) All-National Association

Then he transferred and played his 5th year (2017-18 ) at Boston College-
Deontae Hawkins (23) Forward - AT ILLINOIS STATE All-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team selection as a senior last year … also named to the MVC Most-Impr...

His season was cut short by injury, and since it was his 5th year of eligibility (the maximum allowable by the NCAA), he was not automatically entitled to a 6th season. .
However, he still could have petitioned the NCAA for a medical redshirt and a waiver to play another year, but he chose not to.

Apparently Hawkins had enough with college, and decided to forego an attempt to get another year of eligibility. He hired an agent and dropped out and declared he would turn pro and sign with a team in Europe. The article makes it sound like the coaches at Boston College encouraged him to go pro.-
          https://247sports.com/college/boston...Pro-118799425/

But as noted, there is no evidence that he signed with or played for any pro team in Europe or anywhere else in 2018-19.

if there's still kids in May and even June that are uncommitted, there's generally gonna be a reason - issues like talent doesn't fit with anyone recruiting him or academics or otherwise..
Like when Abdou NDiaye was still available in May last year then committed to ISU- and of course we knew he was gonna be an academic casualty and missed the whole year.
