Although I agree measurables like speed and leaping ability are good tools to evaluate a player, they aren't the end all, be all in my opinion. To me things like heart, b-ball intellect and coachability are even more important. The dunk is way overrated, give me someone who can finish around the basket. Rebounding is more about positioning then leaping ability. I for one trust the BU coaching staff and if they feel he has the talent to play at BU, I certainly trust their opinion more than what I see in a few you-tube clips.

You are both right, and yes having confidence in the BU staff in their decision making abilities is extremely important. A few high lights are not a lot, but the most impressive part of his videos was going end to end off of a rebound and then converting a lay up.
What I did notice is that the players he was playing against were not exactly "strong" basketball players. He was having his way under the basket with guys that didnt seem to be overally physical or athletic. When Strom got to the basket he was laying baskets in but his shots were under the rim. He was not able to elevate off of one foot to put his shots at the rim. If he is to go to the basket in the Valley and off of one foot still try to lay in a basket that shot is gong to get blocked.
Granted he is a senior in high school but guys dont all of a sudden become leapers. I think of the photos we were shown of Collins and his ability to get to the rim and leap. Yes positioning and the mental part are important but athletic skills including leaping ability can not be disregarded.
