  • BU May Beat ISU for Another Recruit

???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

She really didn't have much of a chance getting the job at ISU, and in the end that is why she took her name out of consideration.

ISU had to interview people and go thru the process before they announced that the "interim" tag was removed from Dr. Bowman's title. Bowman had been at ISU for over 24 years in various capacities.

I am not saying Joanne Glasser is not a good candidate either. She is. The writing was on the wall at ISU, that they were going to promote from within though.

Of course, I don't know anything about her.
I notice she is not from the Midwest, and has no natural connections to Bradley or the state of Illinois. And her bio doesn't mention what her philosopy is regarding athletics, but it does say she excelled at fundraising and development. It also appears that all her previous places of employment were large state schools. I don't know if things are that different at a small private school like Bradley. Broski came from a large urban state school, and he did OK.
But I have confidence the administration and the Board of Trustees will make the right decision.

She was President at EKU when they hired Travis Ford- so she knows what it is like to work with former athletes as coaches.

I read one interview where she described her philisophy as a University President as being a "Mayor of an Educational Community"

She is a former county attorney and county commissioner- hails from Maryland area and has been at Towson as well as EKU.

BU Has called a press conference for 11 am- so it may be that Ms. Glasser has been offered and accepted the position as University President.

One good note- the EKU endowment doubled in her tenure there, so let's get her busy on funds for the Athletic makeover!

                Welcome Madame President!
