I do think it is sad if any coach is awarded an extension on their contract and they don’t honor it because of other schools offering more money. Let’s hope the Movement continues here...

I don't think a school can start contacting other schools or contact or negotiate with potential candidates when they don't have a position open yet.
I wasn't suggesting the Bradley do anything but that we as fans better get use to the idea that Coach Wardle will start getting offers if he continues winning 20+ games a year and might move on. Actually I hope, that if he does, that one of his assistant coaches would be ready to move into that job.
I remember years ago hearing a motivational speaker make the comment that a true leader always has someone ready to take their place.

Yes, that is the one thing mid-major fans fear about their coach having great success. Those Power 6 conference schools and BCS Football schools have such massive budgets that there is no way a school like Bradley can pay a coach as much as the big boys can.
Wichita State was able to do it because they have the Koch brothers whose donations made it possible to pay Gregg Marshall $3.5+ million per year. But no MVC school has that luxury.

Wichita State is so fortunate that all 3 Koch brothers were "born" in Wichita, Kansas. They never went to school at Wichita State University - all 3 Koch brothers graduated from MIT. The Koch Brothers business headquarters is in Wichita, Kansas - and they likely give handsomely to Wichita State to have a place to entertain their major clients with front row court seats during the winter months. - What other entertainment is there during the winter months in Wichita Kansas?

We have put up with this for many years and it is not fun.

You are exactly right. The single biggest reason Wichita State's program has advanced as far as it has is coaching continuity and the only way to do that is put up a lot of money to retain your coach. The coach doesn't have to be the next John Wooden or anything just a decent coach. I hope Bradley can find a booster somewhere that will do that for you. Your fan base deserves it and Wardle is a good coach.

It disgust me that contracts don't mean anything, but the other side is if we has an opportunity to make a million or two more what would we do?

Well that is ridiculous. A player, VanVleet, taking money from an agent at the end of his senior season has nothing to do with the University, but whatever you want to believe. .

Regardless - IT IS ILLEGAL and a violation of NCAA RULES

...but- the report shows Fred Van Vleet "received at least $1,000" - which, of course, means it could be a whole lot more but the documents to prove or disprove that have not been released - https://sports.yahoo.com/exclusive-federal-documents-detail-sweeping-potential-ncaa-violations-involving-high-profile-players-schools-103338484.html

                      elsewhere - "
...former Shocker guard Fred VanVleetand his stepfather receiving a combined $3,000 from sports agency ASM Sports."
                      (
btw - that $3,000 is also listed as an "ADVANCE" - so very likely more was or did come...- https://www.kansas.com/sports/colleg...201733754.html)

Now - where there's smoke there's fire - so he's probably getting a whole lot more...

and what was released from crooked agent Christian Dawkins' expense ledger said -
"Jan. 13, 2016: “ATM withdrawl: Advance to Fred Van Vleet $483."
...so if $483 was just an "Advance" - again - you can be sure there was plenty more - and tha's just one guy - we have no idea if other agents were also trying to sway him before he went to college or buy his loyalty during college.

                      Oh, and then there's this...
"VanVleet’s are among the smaller payments listed on the balance sheet from December 2015." - https://www.rrstar.com/news/20180223...sketball-probe

so he should have been ruled INELIGIBLE for at LEAST his senior season - and Wichita should FORFEIT all those games.

It's not something he should have done but really a player that is going to the NBA taking money from an agent his Senior year is way down the line of what's wrong with college basketball. This did nothing to give Wichita State a competitive advantage over other schools.

I think we would both agree that a level playing field is the goal.

                          Getting back to the topic

there are still sources today- none official - saying Brian Wardle is seriously in the mix for the Nebraska job if they don't get Hoiberg
..but would fans at Nebraska accept that - they want Hoiberg

Wouldn't it be something if Wardle was hired at Nebraska and kept Jim Molinari on as an assistant coach? That would make two former BU head coaches on the Nebraska staff. I'm not saying I want Wardle gone. I'm just making a hypothetical statement. Take it FWIW.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

I'm guessing if we have new guys committing to Bradley they kinda expect Coach Wardle to be here to play for him...

Hoiberg to Nebraska is a lock. No worries.
