  • Michigan State is blowing Minnesota out

under 10 minutes to go and Michigan State is up 57-35
I think we are now seeing just how good Bradley is -
I hope Michigan State continues to blow out every opponent and wins the National Championship - proving Bradley is actually the 2nd best team in the nation

Purdue is pummelling Nova. Strong showing for big 10.

but if Bradley stayed even with Michigan State for 35 minutes while MN is getting hammered - this suggests
Bradley could well have battled for the upper half of the Big Ten

If bradley played like they did last half of season I think that is true.

We'd of easily handled Minnesota. Just goes to show how terribly bias the NCAA is. A 10 seed gets blown out by a 2 seed but a 15 seed nearly knocks out a 2 seed.

We'd be in the Sweet 16 right now if the NCAA didn't hate mid majors so much.

hey- if the refs don't send Michigan State to the FT line 30 times, we win that game then beat Minnesota

More undeniable proof that the new College Basketball NET System is so fatally flawed. Minnesota defeated Louisville who finished in the upper crust of the ACC and yet Bradley's NET score is so much lower than these 3 Power 6 conference teams. The mid-major NET scores for the entire season are pretty well set once the conference schedule begins. It just isn't fair.

I have seen at least a dozen of the national basketball commentators agree that the tourney needs to find a way
to get more of the deserving midmajors into the tourney

This is very flawed reasoning. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to think that Bradley would compete for a spot in the top half of the B1G, but it’s simply not true. You cannot go based off of such a small sample size (1 game). Illinois finished 11th in the B1G and they actually beat Michigan State. It would have taken one of our better games to beat Illinois.

I am extremely proud of the fight and effort we put up vs one of the nation’s top teams. That’s what makes the tournament so awesome....it’s one and done and in basketball more than any other sport anything can happen in that one game. We played out of our mind in the first half. We didn’t play terrible in the 2nd half either, it just wasn’t quite enough. But to think we would have been a top 6-7 team in the B1G is absurd.

So using this reasoning, you are saying IUPUI (or anyone else that beat us) would also finish in the top half of the B1G. Or think back to last year...UMBC would’ve been a top ACC team. We all know better than that

Only your opinion bugrad03. Same attitude a lot of my Illini friends stated back in 1986 when Bradley finished 32-3. Ended the season ranked #13 in the coaches polls and #14 in the AP final polls. Yet they said if Bradley played in the Big 10 they would have finished dead last! Wow!

                      That was only their opinion.

back in 2006 when Bradley got an at-large bid and Maryland was relegated to the NIT - their head coach
Gary Williams exploded with multiple attacks claiming Bradley didn't deserve to be in the NCAA and that they
wouldn't have even finished in the top half of the ACC.

And who knows - maybe he was right but....interestingly Bradley won twice in Pontiac Michigan and went to the Sweet Sixteen
and quite appropriately Williams and his Maryland team, despite being given the #1 seed in the NIT and home court advantage
all the way - he got humiliated in the very first game by Manhattan even tho the refs did an incredible job trying to hand the game to Maryland.
They sent Maryland to the FT line almost 40 times and fouled out nearly the entire Manhattan starting lineup.
I think this one experience aged Williams about 10 years

Jeff Xavier scored a career-high 31 points, Jason Wingate added 21, and Manhattan bounced Maryland from the NIT with an 87-84 victory Saturday. The Jaspers (20-10) led by 14 with 13 minutes left, then

Thanks Tornado! Point made! Most teams and fans in the power conferences think they are above everyone else. Seen it to many times.

Michigan State is now starting to pull away and blow out LSU -- still looks like Bradley played them the toughest so far...

on the other channel - North Carolina sure is winning the 'fro styles but Auburn beating them 49-39

Michigan State led "wire to wire" and wins 80-63

North Carolina players with BAD body language - look as if they are giving up and launching desperation 3's with 5 minutes still in the game
but they now find themselves down 83-68
...wonder if Gerry Pollard likes Roy Williams
