I think all the pieces are falling into place for an MVC regular season championship next year. I also think we have two guys who make 1st team all valley next year in Brown and Childs. Great supporting cast in Kennell and Henry with hopefully added help from Brummett and Boya. I also like our incoming class of freshman for next year. I know a lot of highlights don’t mean a lot some times but incoming freshman Stephan Gabriel from Irvington,N.J. looks like he can really play. Plays a lot like Elijah. Same type of body and super athletic! Anyone care to add what they might think?

I think we will miss DLo and Lundy a lot more than one might think by just looking at the scoring numbers. They provide peer leadership which is hugely important. Last year, Donte Thomas provided that, and it took us over half the season to figure out how to fill that void (Lundy and others)... once we did we went crazy.
I predict that BUs level of success next year will be tied 95% to how well they pass on the mantle of peer leadership.Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

Landing a transfer like Fisher from TCU as some of the rumors are suggesting would be huge on that front. I like our incoming freshman and brummet showed he can at least handle the athletic and defensive side of things. But adding another guard who can play point while Brown rests, score and shoot, and has enough experience to be something of a leader would plug our immediate holes. Finding that guy wouldn’t be a simple task but it’s our largest need for next year.
Mid Eli keeps playing like this he’s a POY candidate. Michigan state didn’t double and didn’t flop unlike every team in the valley does to all post players and it helped Childs play to his best. He met and overcame that challenge. If he refines his 3 pt shot in the offseason he becomes a sleeper NBA prospect. High hopes but not unreasonable to see him drafted in a couple years.Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

Next Year...Our success next year will be dependent on what happens in at least three key areas. FIRST of ALL, we are going to have to rely on our new recruits plus possible one more guy. We really do not know or good these new people are going really be and how long it will take to develop them into key roles next season. For example, is Stephan G. really good enough to start at a #3 forward? Is Ville really as good of a 3 point shooter as reported and can he play defense well enough to compete in the MVC next season. SECONDLY, Will Ari B. develop enough over the Summer to be able to start and contribute? We cannot continue to rely on KBs inconsistant play if we are going to make a run at the MVC championship and gain some national recognition. He weakens our offense too much. THIRD... Can we go thru an entire season without major injuries to key players? If these things work out, I could see a 7 or 8 man rotation with Eli at the #3 forward, Ari at the #5, Steph G, or J. Henry at the #4 Forward, Henry, Ville, or Nate at the #2 guard, and Brown at the point.
This would give us a strong front line and some good 3 point shooters with a strong bench.

rumors are rumors until they are facts....or until they are obviously refuted... so I guess we wait & see
...once before, a year ago - there were people (elsewhere) saying that one of these guys would verbal to Bradley - but they
was wrong then as he committed to LSU.
