  • Bringing the Sweet Memories Back to create New Ones

Has there been any talk about bringing in members of the 2006 Sweet 16 team to pep up the current team as they embark on the NCAA tournament?
Would be nice to also have the guys watch highlights of both games that season...give them a taste of Bradley pride so they strive for the same results.

I know this team won't be backing down and will be believing they can win, but to see it happen from a Bradley team from the past might give them some extra mojo.

Wow - Ray Brown - I don't remember him on this team. Thought he was a Brave closer to 2000.
He was the really quick guy who was the brother of former Bull Randy Brown, right?

no - the guy you're thinking of is Jermaine Brown - brother of Bulls' Randy Brown - who only stayed at Bradley a year then played at Minnesota State (DII)
and then went & played several years on the Streetball Tour and with the Globetrotters

Ray Brown was a talented kid from Minnesota but had some problems - failed a drug test while at Bradley
then got suspended and later transferred to a DII in Missouri then played his final year at DIII Hamline.
He didn't play much for Bradley so that's why you might not recall him.

I used to play against Jermaine at Haussler that guy could fly. When he would throw it down the entire backboard would shake.

Jermaine Brown's nickname when he played Streetball & with the Globetrotters was
"Hi Rise" because of his high flying dunking ability

Harlem Globetrotter Jermaine "Hi Rise" Brown visits Okinawa, Japan with Marine Corps Community Services and Armed Forces Entertainment.

He didn't earn much playing time under Jim Molinari because he generally did his own thing and
wasn't "on the same page" as anyone else on the court

                      Ray Brown ...
one more thing about Ray Brown, when he was in high school - another player on his team was named Travis Brown...
and Travis, who was no relation to Ray, went to MVC opponent Northern Iowa. Travis had a decent 4-year career at UNI and he did play in one game vs. his high school friend & teammate Ray Brown before Ray left Bradley - LINK

But while they were playing for the Minnesota State Championship - a kid from another school, Blake Hoffarber, made
what might just be the most clutch, most remarkable shot ever - a long, GAME WINNING, buzzer-beating speactacular shot that he
made while sliding flat on his back while diving for a loose ball...
Blake Hoffarber's buzzer beater in the Minnesota State Championship game.

Hoffarber also made one other miracle, long, wild left-handed game winning buzzer-beater in college as well.
Former Minnesota players Travis Busch and Blake Hoffarber recreate the pass and buzzer-beater from the 2008 Big Ten Tournament game against Indiana. #ncaabas...
