  • Some things I will not miss...

This list is NOT a criticism in any way - so please don't take it that way -
these are PURE COMPLIMENTS to some very good players who have always hurt us and in a selfish way, I am glad to see them graduate...

Drake - first & foremost, Nick McGlynn - what a great MVC player he turned out to be - always hurt us and I am glad we don't have to face him any more. I do wish him well and hope he makes a great recovery - he should have a chance to have a good pro career - but even if Drake plays in the NIT, CBI or whatever tourney - I expect he won't play any more college ball. Drake is the only team in the MVC that finished with MORE wins than Bradley had (Drake has 24 but we still have a chance to catch them!) Then Brady Ellingson - he scored 15 & 17 in the two games against us - glad to see him go.

ISU - as much as I have been hard on the ISU guys, I hafta admit I am glad we don't ever have to face Fayne, Yarbrough & Evans again. They spent four years mostly kicking our butts (until this year!) I wish them well and hope they bring more glory to the MVC in their pro careers.

Missouri State - yup, I am glad we won't have to face Dixon & Kreklow any more - they kinda kicked out butts in the regular season pretty good.

UNI - Lohaus - need I say more - he doesn't look physically imposing but I am sure a few Bradley fans can remember this game
when he came off the bench to drop 25 points on us - http://www.mvc.org/mbb/stats/2017-18/unimbb25.htm

SIU - pretty much their whole starting five. None of them have been particularly thorns in our side - but Pippen & Fletcher have hurt us in a few losses to the Salukis

But if I had to pick a "NOT GLAD to see you go-list" - it would be just one guy - Barry Hinson. He needs to be honored for his time in the MVC - everyone outside of Carbondale loves the guy and respects him and what he does. Seems people forget the disaster that Chris Lowery left behind with SIU in the bottom 5 percentile of APR and academic measures but also 8-23 in 2012 with drug busts, players getting arrested, fighting with cops...
They were headed for the NCAA death penalty before Barry turned things around.
By the end of his 3rd season at SIU he had a run of 4th place, 3rd place, 2nd place, 3rd place and averaged 19 wins/season over the past four years.

So it's kinda funny & ironic that some people say "never finished higher than 4th" is the reason to fire a guy...
but SIU folks use the argument "hasn't finished LOWER than 4th" to fire Barry!!!
