Bradley MVC Champions! Final score Bradley 55 UNI 52
Congrats to the Bradley Braves!!! This Jekyll and Hyde team has given me ulcers all season. I can just see BU drawing Duke, scoring 12 points in the first half, then 79 in the second half to beat Duke by 1. All kidding aside, what a great second half. I wonder what Coach Wardle told the team between halves to fire them up.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.
Going to put this out there. I’m hoping to go the next game wherever it may be, but if the NCAA is smart and wants to sell tickets, put the Braves in Des Moines. You’d get a ton of people making the trip from Peoria and I’m sure some Drake fans would come out to support the Valley. I know if there ever was an MVC team playing in the tournament in Peoria, I’d be there for sure.
Luqman Lundy was named the CBS Player of the Game. And he was the biggest factor when it mattered in the game. It would have been easy for the team to let up when they were down 18 points, but Luqman was not going to let the team give up.
There are some uninformed people who posted on forums that Lundy was a wasted scholarship, and that he was not a D1 player. They look pretty dumb now. POG of the MVC Championship game! Congratulations Luqman. He is who we thought he was!
In a previous post, I mention that I told my wife during Wardle's first season that we'll be in the NCAA tournament in 4 years. I believed that because I knew Wardle can coach and recruite, and these kids would be down by 20 with 2 minutes to go and they played hard to the end, and Wardle never stopped coaching. Todays comeback was one of the greatest games in the history of Bradley basketball. They have a heart the size of Texas. Not Texas but Alaska. No matter how far we go in the tournament, Bradley basketball is back and It's only going to get better. GO BRADLEY
What a fantastic weekend. I’ve never been more proud to be a Bradley fan!! This team has fought all year! Unbelievable 0-5 to Tournament Champs!!! LETS GO DANCING!!!
