YESSSSSSSSSSs........move the MVC Tournament to Chicago, and oudraw the Big Ten tourney!

    BIG TEN TOURNAMENT:
Illinois drew 22,000 last year in their win over Indiana (two local teams) at the United Center in Chicago.
Then they drew only 20,000 when they played Wisconsin the next day,
and then the finals with Wisconsin vs. Ohio State surprisingly only drew 19,000!!

    MVC TOURNAMENT:
Bradley drew 22,600 in their semifinal at St. Louis, and the finals drew another 22,612...so
the MVC Tourney (in St. Louis) OUTDREW the Big Ten Tourney (in Chicago)!!!!!!!!!!!

        didn't think so....

Here's something interesting, Mac....when the attendance of the Big Ten Finals last March took a drop from the semis the day before, it must have been pretty embarrassing to the Big Ten people, because they did a monumental job of hiding that fact.
I dare you to find a story that reveals the attendance, and here is the official box score off the Big Ten website.....leaving the space after the word "Attendance:" completely BLANK.

The story (the Big Ten's offical news release) also never mentions the attendance.

        Don't you find that odd?
Even the reports and box scores on BOTH the Ohio State website and Wisconsin website fail to note the attendance, and the only way to dig it out is to go to some of the independent statistical reporting services.
I guess they were pretty embarrassed. Maybe the MVC can bid on the United Center for the very same weekend that the BT want to use it, and because they'd draw MORE, just maybe the the Valley will get the facility!

Does anybody know if they are planning on playing this tournament at the same time as the men's tournament like a few other conferences do? It would certainly help both tournaments (mostly the women's), but could cause some logistical problems for some athletic departments.
