OK - what a Valley standings bottle neck and for me a "worst case" obvious question: I hope that this does not happen. Does Bradley have the "tie breaker" over Southern Illinois ?

Siu owns a tie breaker with us if it’s just us 2 since we split and they have a higher NET ranking. At this stage, if SIU loses, UNI wins, and we lose, we’’ would be the 7 seed unfortunately. SIU did sweep UNI, though, so in the event all 3 of us lose, UNI would fall to 7th.
The least complicated scenarios are if SIU beats ISU or if we win at Loyala. ISU loses and they are the 7 seed. We win and we avoid Thursday.

Really too bad that we lost the game to SIU at home... We would be talking about having a shot at a tie for first instead of ways to avoid the play in game. We have to root for SIU or InSU. It would take some of the pressure off of the game since we play later in the day on Saturday.

Tonight's final scores-
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bas...ard/_/group/18
Current MVC standings-Bradley is in a 4-way tie for 4th place. One of those 4 teams will join Valpo, Evansville, and Indiana State in the Thursday games.Drake 11-6 - 22-8 Loyola-Chicago 11-6 - 18-12 Missouri State 10-7 1 16-14 Bradley 9-8 2 17-13 Illinois State 9-8 2 16-14 Southern Illinois 9-8 2 16-14 Northern Iowa 9-8 2 14-16 Valparaiso 7-10 4 14-16 Indiana State 6-11 5 14-15 Evansville 4-13 7 10-20
Here is Saturday's schedule-
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bas.../date/20190302
Since ISU plays at SIU, obviously one of those 2 teams will lose and drop to 9-9. The winner will be 10-8 and be safe from Thursday.
Bradley holds the head-to-head and NET tiebreaker with ILSU, but BU split with UNI and SIU and they lose the tiebreaker with both those teams because of the NET with both of them.
There are number of possible combinations, but to simplify, if Bradley wins Saturday at Loyola, they will avoid Thursday (since either SIU or ISU will lose. But if BU loses Saturday at Loyola, they need to hope Illinois State loses, too at SIU, since ISU is the only team they have the clearcut tiebreaker with.

Thank you Da Coach and all others spelling out the different possible scenarios regarding which Valley team can be seated where in Arch Madness by their Saturday outcome. The bottom line - everyone will know by 3:30 pm CST this Saturday if Bradley's 5 pm CST game against Loyola is a "must win" for Bradley to avoid being the 7th seed.

Yes Bradley owns the tiebreaker with ISU, but no, Bradley is not yet assured of staying out of Thursday because they do not own the tiebreaker with SIU or UNI, both of whom could still end up in a tie with Bradley at 9-9. So if BU and SIU lose Saturday, Bradley will fall to a 2-way tie with SIU, or possibly a 3-way tie with SIU & UNI. In either case, Bradley would will lose those tiebreakers and be the 7th seed (as I said above). If they end in a 2-way tie with ISU, Bradley wins that tiebreaker. If it ends as a 3-way tie between BU, ISU, and UNI, it would be Bradley that wins, UNI second, and ISU 3rd by virtue of Bradley's sweep of ISU.
In summary, If Bradley wins Saturday, they avoid Thursday.
If Bradley loses to Loyola, they have to hope ISU loses to SIU. In that case Bradley will end in either a 2-way tie with ISU, or a 3-way that includes ISU & UNI. Those are the only tiebreakers I see that Bradley wins and avoids the 7th seed if they end 9-9.
