Halftime of the 2 6:00 games. Loyola, behind 17 points and 5 rebounds from Marques Townes, leads against Evansville 43-29. The Ramblers are shooting 16-23 from the field, 7-9 from 3. ISU Blue hasn't trailed at home against ISU Red as they lead 37-21.

ISU getting clobbered over at Indiana State

Indiana State 58 - ISU 39 with 10 minutes to go

ISU is so afraid to play defense for fear of picking up fouls - just another manifestation
of their incredibly short bench and lack of depth
This allows Bronson Kessinger to look like Joel Embiid
and Copeland (0-7), Tinsley & Chastain can't guard anyone - Key & Cooper Neese have combined for 14-22 and 36 pts!!

..not to mention the ISU guys are walking and look absolutely gassed....sucking wind

would love to hear the ISU guys' rebuttal again about how deep this team is

Yarbrough has 1 assist and 6 turnovers - same old song...he has absolutely destroyed his NBA Draft potential over the past couple weeks
..wonder if he made his court date this morning then hurried over to Terre Haute..

Amazing - final 4-5 minutes and ISU just sits in the zone while InSU burns the entire shot clock time and again

Then Copeland fouls a long, bail-out 3 point shot!

              Final score
              Indiana State 73 - ISU 50
              Yarbrough 13 pts but 7 turnovers & 4 fouls, Fayne 16 pts - ISU 3-17 from the arc & 20 turnovers
Tyreke Key 21 pts, Neese 17 - Sycamores 51% from the field, 11-25 from the arc

with 3 minute left Loyola leads Evansville 63-52

              Halftime SIU 28 - Valpo24

and then in a DEFENSIVE battle with terrible shooting- UNI 16 - Missouri State 14 with just 1:11 left in the first half.

I just finished watching the Illinois State-Indiana State game on ESPN+. Wow, just when you thought Indiana State was down and out after losing 5 of their last 7 and 7 of their last 10 and dropping into 9th place, and Illinois State with everything to gain by winning, the Sycamore play one of their best games whole the Redbirds looked totally lost and indifferent. Indiana State never trailed, dominated the game start to finish, and cruised to an easy 23 point win. The Sycamores had 13 steals and forced 20 turnovers! ILSU, which was tied for 1st just a couple weeks ago has now lost 5 in a row. They don't seem to even pretend to play defense, and they struggle to score on offense. They made it to 50 points, only because Indiana State had their reserves in the game for the final couple minutes while ILSU still had several starters in the game until the final buzzer. ILSU has scored in the 50's for 3 of their last 5 games, all losses. A bit baffling to understand how poorly they've played now when the they were in a position to pull away from everyone else in the MVC.

In the other games, Loyola beat Evansville as expected, and the other 2 games are early in the 2nd half with the home teams leading-

If the scores hold and the 2 home teams win (MSU over UNI and Valpo over SIU) Bradley will be in a 5-way tie for 4th place.

Bradley now has a significant NET advantage over Valpo, UNI, Indiana State, Illinois State and Evansville
We probably won't catch Missouri State or SIU in NET but our advantage in the tiebreaker could come in handy staying out of Thursday

It's very possible that the Redbirds could lose their last 3 games because of the way they are playing. They play at home against Drake and Missouri State and finish at SIU.

What a strange season, and tonight is no different. UNI scored just 17 points in the 1st half at Missouri State, a team that has been hot with a 4-game win streak, and who just had moved into a tie for 1st place. But then they poured in 46 points in the 2nd half while holding MSU to 24 points to blow away MSU 63-43.

LOOK OUT FOR "UNI" - NORTHERN IOWA - in 2019 Arch Madness

Ben Jacobson (UNI Coach) is one heck of a coach and he demonstrated it again this Wednesday night by routing one of the Valley hottest teams Missouri State - at Missouri State. Forget Dana Ford for Valley coach of the year - Dana was out coached by Jacobson tonight. Anyone recall March 2016 - Ben and his UNI team defeated #1 Seed Wichita State in the Valley semi-final. Ben will have his UNI team ready as much as he can for the 2019 Arch Madness tournament.

Missouri State was just plain horrible in the last 8 1/2 minutes as they were outscored 25-10. UNI was 20-29 from the FT line, 12-16 in the last 3 1/2 minutes when the game was out of hand. A road team getting to the FT line? HMMMM . MSU was a dreadful 2-18 from 3 and were 7-14 from the FT line.
