Final score: Drake 77 Bradley 68

I asked one former official who had never heard of this, but has anyone ever seen a foul call reversed by looking at a video replay and given to the other team? I searched and cannot find that it is even part of the replay rule in NCAA, nor that it has ever happened. Those ridiculous flagrant fouls, and the 2 absurd technical fouls cost Bradley the game. Bradley played well (shot 47.5% and only 9 turnovers), and Drake not so well (shot 36.4%), but by being bailed out by those officials all game, they won it at the free throw line where Bradley couldn't defend. Drake 31-36 from FT line, Bradley 6-9!

You must not have searched too hard because it happened just a couple weeks ago in the Illinois vs Wisconsin game in Champaign. Illinois was whistled for a foul on Ethan Happ as he set a screen. Officials went to the monitor and took the foul away from Illinois and issued Happ a flagrant 1 for hooking the arm of the defender while setting the screen. Hook and hold is a point of emphasis in college basketball this year.

After the game Wardle told Snell and Kleine that he would have liked to have earned that T. He pointed out the disparity in the fouls called but didn't directly criticize them. I thought he did a pretty good job of explaining.

It appeared to me he made a "bah humbug" type gesture with both hands. I don't believe he said anything. He just used his hands to make a dismissive gesture.

Probably the worst officiated game I have ever seen in my life! What a bunch of crap. Don’t know how the coaching staff kept as calm as they did. Let’s sweep these next 2 at home and steal one at Loyola!

It was a "bah humbug" gesture. He was letting the refs know that we've been getting SCROOGED all game.

Even with everything working against us we still had a chance to win on the road. Last 3 minutes of each half we just didn't finish real well as Drake outscored us 18-6 in those 6 minutes. Otherwise I thought we played really well on offense. Defensively we were ok but we had a few lapses in giving up wide open 3's and a few too many 2nd chances. Again as barf inducing as the officiating was we still had a chance to win on the road which a month ago we would have been thrilled about. Feels pretty good to be a little pissed off about losing this one. Shrug this one off and move on. GET ER DONE BOYS!

I saw it once in an Illinois game last year. Common foul reversed.

Saw this one too, and forgot about it. I didn't think Henry's was a hook and hold.

Yeah, it was bad. How bad was it? So bad that I decided to log back in after eight years to vent my frustration: (Now back to lurking until 2027 or so...)

                      A-men !!!

Here are the names of the Tuesday night Drake / Bradley game referees.. Referees Ray Natili, Randy Heimerman, Kelly Self - from MVC Sports web site

Bradley received "2" technical fouls - and a foul on DLO during a Bradley fast break towards the end of the game that again
swung the momentum away from Bradley- unbelievable.

Were the 2 technical fouls called by 2 different refs or the same ref? And of the one or 2 refs who called technical fouls - was it one
of them that also called the unbelievable foul on DLO during a likely fast break towards the end of the game? Of the 3 refs I would like to
know was there 1 real trouble making ref or 2 or was it all 3? Just wonder if anyone caught this - of course I could replay the game but
nah - wouldn't do any good and just continue to upset me.... I agree - I hope the league reviews this game.

I hope that I never see any of these 3 reffing another Bradley game. One or more will likely ref some of the Arch Madness games
                      due to the likely need.

                        don't get your hopes up
..the league will not review anything - and especially not to help the team that's likely to get the 5-6th seed over the team that could get the #1 seed.
...the game is over we need to move on take out our frustrations on Evansville, Valpo & Loyola - then win the Tourney.

I am just as miffed at the missed calls on the other end - on one layup, as Childs went up Drake's Liam Robbins' forehead collided with the top of Childs' head and Robbins went to the bench with blood dripping from his forehead. So if the defender's head is directly vertical over the shooter's head and collides as he shoots, it IS NOT A FOUL? But, as was the pattern all nite - no call was made.

despite the huge disparity we still had chances if we'd have gotten our layups to fall...

When Drakes players and coaches went to bed last night, in their hearts they know they was not the better team. Hope we get to see them in St Louis. Now let's go out and win our next 6 games. GO BRADLEY

If Bradley is fortunate enough to play Drake one more time this season in the Arch Madness tournament - the whole Bradley team will be salivating - ready to feed on this opponent. It's the other Valley teams that will provide the Braves more of a challenge in Arch Madness. There will be a lot of posts and discussion after the season ends - and I'll state that teams such as Mo State, IL State, and Loyola that concern me more (more about Loyola after the Feb 1 game). Illinois State has the same "chip on their shoulder" as Bradley has about Drake. At this time I would prefer that the Arch Madness bracket be set up that Bradley doesn't face either Mo State or Il State until the Sunday game. Those 2 can go at each other in the semi-final.

How bout the travel calls on Henry? This is hard to swallow. I feel super sad for the guys. They played good enough and deserved to win. Almost pulled it off anyway. Im proud of them. They were penalized for showing emotion. On DLOs the ref right in front of the play swallowed his whistle , shouldve been a foul on drake . ref from other side of court calls foul on Dlo.

Coach Wardle is good at making his point subtly enough to avoid repercussions from the MVC, Here is another example of that.
A tweet from Coach Wardle this morning after he watched film that refers to how he "loved our composure and the way we battled through adversity"
                                https://twitter.com/BUBrianWardle/st...38706367062016

I think we all know what he means by adversity.

As I said earlier, I thought Bradley played very well. Recall how many of our earlier road games went, this one was different. Instead of falling behind quickly, or having long dry spells, coming out at the beginning of each half flat, or not making much of an effort to catch up once we fall behind, we did the opposite of all those things last night. Bradley played well enough to win any MVC road game, but they couldn't overcome the enormously uneven effects of the officiating.
