Ja'Shon Henry for Newcomer of the Week !!
Ja'Shon was key to Bradley beating the top two teams in the MVC

Congratulations to Ja’Shon for his hard work which has resulted in more playing time. Along with DLO, he is proving to be another international player that brings high energy, competitiveness and toughness that can compete in the MVC. Ja’Shon is developing into a difference maker and is really fun to watch!

JaShon Henry is a great addition to Bradley Basketball! He is a great player and will only get better & better. I predict that he will become a 1st team all MVC player.
He should be a starter. He adds something to make BU much, much better....A tough, high energy player who is fearless inside.

I agree Wizard. JaShon is fearless inside. It has been a long time since a Bradley player has attacked the rim the way he does and he is only a freshman. Brings back memories of Deon Jackson and Theron Wilson of guys who liked to bang inside. Play like we did last night and who knows how far we can go!

Reminds me more of Dwayne Funches, but with some guard skills. Ja'Shon actually played some point guard at his high school academy!

          Bradley's announcement called him a guard/forward-

          As does the current roster-

I think we will see him play a bit more on the wing as his career progresses.

Did Henry play hockey in Canada? I bet he did. You’ll learn toughness quick.

I hate giving links to the PJStar because you will likely hit a paywall or a 10-question survey before you can read a word...

but I will make an exception since this is a GREAT article on Ja'Shon Henry

Thank you Dave Reynolds - I love where you call Ja'Shon "The Canadian teenager"...

I simply do not think of this kid as a teenager - he is a MAN!
But -- I still love the Charles Barkley comparison the best.

Like DLO - Ja'Shon has a sense about the game where he senses and reads what the opposing team is going to do before the opposing team does it and defends for that situation - the latest best example was recognizing the steal situation he made against Mo State's Da Silva late in the game. No one is taught this type of skill - it's more like a sixth sense. Oh I am so going to enjoy watching Ja'Shon for three more years. But before that I am going to enjoy today's Semi-Final game against Loyola. After yesterday's game I just need to pick up a defibrillator. Anybody remember North Carolina State's Wolfpack - Cardiac Kids? Clear - LOL - GO BRADLEY.

every Canadian kid plays hockey so I'd be surprised if Ja'Shon didn't...
he'd have probably been in the NHL by now if he'd have stuck with it...

Don’t watch hockey. If I want to watch boxing I could turn on ESPN.

Before the season started, I predicted that Da'Shon Henry could be the "sleeper" in the incoming class of freshmen. Took him a while to work his way into the lineup, but he certainly brings some energy and enthusiasm that we don't get from anyone else. If he continues to work on his outside shooting, he could be a first team All-MVC by next year. Hope he can continue to provide a spark that will move us forward today and tomorrow. If we could just find a way to give Koch Da'Shon's hands we would have a true monster player. Go Braves!!!!

Just got a text from my son who lives in Des Moines and is a Drake graduate. Mcglynn is out today and probably tomorrow. Too bad. Drake had a chance to win it all with him in the lineup. Go Drake!!

Agree 100% regarding Funches .Deon and Theron not so much. They weren't the bangers Funch and O'Henry is but when his offensive game improves he is headed for all conference no doubt. He has been so valuable since he started getting major minutes. He needs to really get up alot of shots every day this off season . He is gonna be really special before he's done here.
