I found a Youtube video with the 1992 3-point contest. Jim Les of the Utah Jazz and Craig Hodges of the Chicago Bulls made it to the final round, and Les lost to Hodges by 1 basket. The 3-point contest starts at about the 50 second mark of the video.
Jim Les was the top 3-point shooter in the NBA the previous season (1990-91) with 46.1%. Nobody else in the NBA was better than 41.8%.

BTW, Jim Les' UC Davis team was expected to be going through a bit of a rebuilding year after losing some key players from last season's Big West Championship team.
And they started poorly in the Big West, losing 4 of their first 5 games. But then they gelled and have now won their last 5 games straight to pull into a tie for 3rd place in the league. They have 4 of their last 6 games at home, so they could climb even higher.
UC Davis won tonight over Long Beach State with a great comeback 77-73 win, despite the loss of their top scorer, point guard and last year's Big West Player of the Year T.J. Shorts due to an injury early in the game.

Steph Curry wore an exact replica of the jacket he wore as a 3-year old at that 1992 All Star 3-point contest at Saturday night's All Star 3-point competition.

Curry had the highest score in the opening round, but lost out in the final to Joe Harris of the NJ Nets.
