Believe it or not, Bradley now owns the longest winning streak of any MVC team. They are the only MVC team with a 2-game winning streak. Loyola, Drake, Valpo, Missouri State, and SIU all have 1-game winning streaks, and the others have losing streaks.

What an enjoyable to watch! Fast start and this time we didn't let up. I've said it before and I'll say it again. When we are aggressive on both ends good things happen and they sure did in this game. What was really impressive about the game is that we got our big lead in the 1st 25 minutes and Eli had 0 points. We dominated the boards 44-27 and we had a season high 19 assists on our 33 made FG's. We also held ISU Blue to just 6-22 from 3 and overall just 38% from the field. That's being aggressive. It took us awhile but we've climbed out of last place. Both Valpo, against Loyola, and Missouri State, against ISU Red, are at home on Sunday and would be tied for 3rd with Drake at 7-5 if they win and would be 2 games ahead of us with 6 to play. One or both lose and they would be tied with SIU and just 1 game ahead of us. Missouri State would hold the tie breaker over us by virtue of their 2 wins so that's 1 team we don't want to end up in a 2 way tie with. Loyola is up next and I'm sure it won't be as easy as this game was. Hope we can keep this up in this game and for the rest of the season and they will have to if they don't want to finish in the bottom 4. Go get em boys! Get er done!

This is the way we should play every home game - this is what teams should have to expect every time they come into Carver..
...anyone remember the atmosphere at Robertson?

Y'all see why Indiana State needs to boot Lansing whatever the financials. He has lost the team at some point for the last eight years, excluding his first year when the team he inherited went to the Big Dance. This year he lost them as soon as the conference began. Every season since has been part of a downhill slide & if you take away the NAIA, D2 & D3 wins he has an overall losing record. The team (and I use the term team loosely) that you saw last night played matador defense, showed no emotion or fight, and gave in after the first five minutes. An embarrassment to Sycamore fans everywhere.

I know that Oscar Robertson (of then # 1 Cincinnati) remembers - because he was quoted as saying "Good" when someone shared with him that Robertson Memorial was being torn down. I remember different sports writers calling Robertson Memorial a "Snake Pit" for opposing teams. I remember to somehow fortunately acquire some tickets for when undefeated # 3 Louisville came to Robertson Memorial and some Louisville fans asked before the game "Does It Get Loud In Here?" - They were holding their ears during the game and Louisville had their first loss. I wish I could have been at Robertson Memorial's last home game - against Tulane sending Bradley on to New York for the NIT quarterfinals. Tulane - never had a chance with that Bradley home crowd. That was 37 years ago...... So if anyone age 8 or more in 1982 may have been at Bradley games held at Robertson Memorial.... So what I am sharing is that those who have great memories of games at Robertson Memorial are at least 45 years of age or more now. We're a vanishing breed who witnessed that "magical" time.

After many years listening to Mort Cantor(?) on WIRL. that Louisville game was my first Bradley game. I was 16 yrs old. I'll never forget Unseld getting his 4th foul and Joe Allen taking him 35 feet from the basket dribbling around until a frustrated Unseld fouled him. After Wardle's first season, watching his coaching/teaching style and how his team never quit, I told my wife Bradley will be in the Big Dance in 4 years.( Versace all over again) I don't know if they will but there a very bright future for BU basketball. This has been the Greatful Dead season,,,,,What a long strange trip it's been. GO BRAVES

Seeing what you’re talking about in person was shocking. There were multiple times a Bradley guard dribbled from beyond the three point line to the hoop without a defender attempting to stop him at any point. His man was woefully out of position, weak side help was nowhere to be found, and strong side defense help just stood and watched. It is the kind of performance that would have me furious.
                      Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

I used to spot for the guy who ran the individual scoreboard on the student side of the Fieldhouse. It malfunctioned and gave Bridgeman, I think it was him, 3 fouls instead of only 2. Crum sent a reserve to the scorers table to report in, but the Louisville bench realized the mistake and the announcer said he only had 2 fouls. Crum wasn’t too happy. I think that could have been the last gave for those scoreboards.

I’m old enough to have seen Bradley home games at Woodruff High school, the Peoria Armory, the Fieldhouse and now the Civic Center. Been to NCAA games in Atlanta and Ogden and the great NIT championship game against Purdue in MSG. My favorite memory is from my Army days. It was 1960. Myself and another guy had our orders for Arlington, Virginia. We checked in and went into DC for the weekend. Went to a bar, of course, and ask the bartender to get the NIT Championship game on. He ask who everybody should cheer for. Bradley had a lot of new fans that day.

6 Valley games left and not much decided. 3 teams tied for 2nd, 2 teams each tied for 5th, 7th and 9th. There are 4 teams, us, SIU, Valpo and Missouri State who are all at 13-12 overall. Still think the magic number for finishing out of the play in game is finishing at 9-9. That would mean Valpo and SIU have to finish 3-3 and us and UNI have to finish 4-2. We still have 2 with Loyola, on the road at both ISU Red and Drake and at home against Valpo and Evansville so I think we have a shot at finishing 4-2 as long as we keep staying aggressive on both ends. Hopefully the last game at Loyola won't matter but the way the topsy turvy Mo Valley has gone so far who the heck knows. Everyone has taken their turn either looking really good or really, really bad. Should be a fun 3 weeks.

Great job Braves! Way to turn yourselves around!

Don't forget what got you this far! Previous BU teams on a winning streak thought they could then just show up, or, play selfishly, and win. Led to disasterous results.

My first recollection of BU was watching MVC game of the week on Saturdays after moving to Des Moines Ia from SF Calif in 1967. The raised court lit up during games at Robertson Field house was magical on TV. The MVC was a powehouse back then.

Imagine my surprise after moving to Peoria in '76 to work for Cat after college and finally getting to see Robertson Field House in person! Having watched Drake play at Vets Memorial Coliseum in DSM, and my Alma Mater Ia State play in ultra modern new Hilton Coliseum, I couldn't believe the cool raised BU men's court was in an old WW II hanger! :-)

None the less, during my 34 year career with Cat in/out of Peoria, I became attached to BU MBB - a great way to survive winters in Peoria.

My all time BU highlights were:

Sitting on the court at Carver watching BU hang on to win (vs WSU?) when their 90% free throw shooter bricked two FT's with 5 seconds remaining right in front of me, allowing BU to win by 1 Full house was going absolutely crazy.

Supervising Cat marketing intern Danny Adams. Good BB player and better person.

Meeting the BU team at the Peoria airport after their stunning NCAA Tourney rounds 1 & 2 upset wins! Sheer jubilation!

Hopefully great new memories will return to BU MBB!
