The announcing crew on ESPN+ was good, but one thing bothered me. They repeatedly said that Bradley had never won at the McLeod Center. That is just wrong. Bradley won there in the 2nd year of the McLeod Center on January 12, 2008 behind 28 points by Jeremy Crouch and 14 points by sophomore Andrew Warren.-
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa ? Bradley senior guard Jeremy Crouch scored 20 of Bradley's last 26 points in the final 13:27, leading the Braves (8-9, 1-4) to a 75-73 Missouri Valley Conference road victory at UNI (10-6, 2-3) Saturday night at the McLeod Center.? The win snapped Bradley's six-game losing streak and sent the Panthers to their third consecutive loss.

Maybe the Bradley fans will witness a miracle at the end of the regular season. The bottom 8 teams of the Valley are separated by only 2 games with 7 regular season games left. Finishing in the top 6 is still possible. The Braves need to defeat Loyola once. Bradley has 4 remaining home games. To have any real "hope" Bradley needs to win all 4 games at home and one road game would be icing on the cake. Illinois State already has the Feb 16 game circled. Bradley ends the regular season at Loyola (BIG GAME for BOTH TEAMS).... That leaves the Feb 19 road game at Drake to be the icing.... But the next 2 home games Indiana St. and Loyola will set the tone for the remaining 7 games.

Who am I kidding. This team is so maddeningly consistently inconsistent that it borders on schizophrenic. The first 4 1/2 minutes was great as we led 12-0 and the first 11 minutes was really good as we led 25-15 with 9:00 to go. The next 14 minutes saw UNI outscore us 32-18 to lead 47-43. The last 15 minutes saw us outscore them 36-24. But it was the last 5 minutes of the game that saw us outscore them 16-9 to win the game. It's truly amazing what happens with this team when we're aggressive on offense and defense. Why we can't do that for a whole game is beyond me. I still think 9-9 should keep us out of the play in game. But that would require us to actually win our home games but as we've showed we have that ability. Let's get er done!

Best, grittiest performance yet this season. Wardle discovered we are actually an up tempo team, finally. Brown aggressive from the start. He looks pissed now. Have noticed our “scoring droughts” have shrunk over the past 3 games, and we didn’t have one at all tonight. We just beat a good team who played well. This season has been maddening, but interesting. Each one of these wins it seems like we turned a corner, then plop. Still going to keep hope alive, might as well.
            Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

Winning at UNI has been no small task for BU. It’s a good road win. Can’t be good for the UNI coach, already under pressure by some, to have a last place team come into town and beat you.

the UNI fans know that they have had a pretty good run under Jacobson - so he's pretty safe there. There's only a couple fringe fans who think otherwise.

...not to mention his contract -

Ben Jacobson is under contract until 2027 at nearly $1 mil per year.. so if they would even want to buy him out, they'd have to start the talk at several million $$ since the buyout in his contract is set at 1/2 the remaining value of his contract.

Yup Vent - the last time Bradley won at UNI was January 12, 2008 - ELEVEN YEARS ago by a Jim Les team. (Thank you BIg Jimmy and Da Coach for providing the last win at UNI last night) I am not following the Ben Jacobson (under pressure) dilemma. The Northern Iowa fans (and school) have been spoiled by Ben Jacobson's accomplishments and now when they are not in the mix of post season discussions - these fans throw fits. Don't the UNI fans realize Ben could have left years ago when they made it to the Sweet Sixteen (I believe twice) and to the Dance a couple more times. All the UNI fans (and school) has to do is look at Bradley after Jim Les was let go and at Missouri State after Barry Henson was let go. No real post season discussion at either school after Les and Henson were gone.

UNREAL...I had very little hope to come out with a W in this one.
This team has shown how good they can be...and how awful.

Well, guess I'll watch the next game after deciding to sit out this last one. LOL

                    Go BRAVES!

After this win it's really too bad we didn't win against SIU on Sunday. If we had won that game we would be in the middle of the pack with tie breakers against SIU and EU(assuming we win our home game against them). That would have put us with a great chance of staying out of the Thursday play-in game. Now unless the NET rankings change dramatically we lose the tiebreaker with SIU so in order to catch them in the standings we will have to win 2 more games than them in the 7 games remaining of MVC play. Realistically I think EU, UNI, InSU, and BU end up in the bottom 4.
