  • So easy a caveman can do it....

    ...but I can't

Help. I have an old computer. One day I'm actually going to break down and get a dell...until then I continue to live in 1990 and operate some old Hewlett Packard model.

Right now its so slow and whatever I can't even access my email on Yahoo. Logging on and just general use reminds me of my old dial up days.

I'm a baby boomer and a computer dummy. Before I take it in or call computer geeks does anyone have a quick fix I can try? It keeps saying "You have no free space on disk C"

I've taken a few stabs at freeing some up but whatever I have blindly tried it hasn't worked.

If anyone has any advise thats so easy even THIS caveman could do it....PM me please.

    Thanks Dru.

Defragment your hard drive, run disk cleanup, delete your temporary internet files, delete your cookies, take 2 Advil and call me in the morning....

...and then start budgeting for a new computer.
    Onward and Upward!

Thanks T but I tried and it won't work. Tried to download and it says It can't find the VB6 runtime files needed to download. When it directs me to the site to download whatever that is it still doesn't work.

        Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

If you are running XP, go to start-programs-accessories-system tools, and you should find disk defragmenter and disk cleanup. You can go into Internet Explorer and go to tools-internet options, and click on the options to delete your temporary internet files and cookies....

....then start budgeting for a new computer!
