Two more significant injuries in the MVC

UNI starter Myles Wentzien is out for the season with a torn ACL suffered Tuesday

Valpo starter Ryan Fazekas out for possibly a couple weeks with ankle sprain -

Season seems like it has unraveled...too bad considering how well we started.

The substitutions and playing time on the team have me really baffled.
I know Wardle is trying different combos, but all along have wondered why Luk has not garnered more PT - he is our best shooter and has good offensive awareness and moves...plays ok D.
Pittman a COMPLETE mystery. After his freshman season, though he was going to be one of our best players at this point, but barely sees the court.
Our frosh are not good - doubt they return next season after such little time and contributions...aside from Ari, who will get better.

Let's make this our turning point of the season. We need to defend our homecourt...starts with one game.
Hopefully the shooting funks of Nate, Jayden, and Elijah are broken!

            Go BRAVES!

I moved to Peoria in my young adulthood and I am not a Bradley fan per se. However, I will root for them since they are a local team and I love the game of basketball. I am no expert, but I think I can be a little more subjective than some. Having said that, I do not understand why this team is not pushing the ball down the floor and full court pressing. For the half-court offense, I don’t think the ball is pounded inside near enough. I think there are a couple of guards who can break down the defense on the dribble and dish the ball inside more. I think they are deep enough to play a fast-paced game and rotate more players in. I think a more frenetic pace of blocking out, grabbing the rebound, and racing down the floor could wear their opponents out in the MVC. After a made basket, throw in a full court press on occasion at least, and I think more players get involved and this team has a much better record. Just my two cents worth.

I don't really understand this ongoing narrative that some posters keep pushing. They are freshman at a MM. None of these kids came in with 5 stars next to their names. At the MM level development is key. Now I am not stating they will or won't be good or even stick around. However, I don't like writing off 18 year old kids who are learning the game at an entirely different speed. That being said, what is going on with Henry? Still sick?

Could be interesting on Sat night with the snow. I WILL be there with the other 14 or so hearty souls who make the drive.

                    this is interesting...

pre-game column this morning in the PJS for the Missouri State game is written by Dave Eminian and has his big photo with it

He even references the experts on the message boards...

"..message boards threads show their tension. “Fire Wardle” and “Wardle has lost this team” and “Dead on Arrival”
are among the discussion threads. There are no shortage of theories on those boards."

wonder if he's taking over coverage of Bradley?

T - You must have a different edition of the PJStar than I do. Dave Reynolds wrote the article in mine and the picture is of the BU girls team.

I think Dave Reynolds' column was posted yesterday at least that's what the time/day stamp says...

I will PM you the link to the Eminian column - it's online- I can send you the link if you want, check you PMs
I just can't recall Dave Eminian ever writing a column about Bradley basketball nor do I recall him ever there to cover games...
least of all a game-day article by Dave Eminian

Here is the article tornado was referring to. It was posted at 7:33 am today, and is definitely written by Eminian with his "Cleve In The Eve" byline-

And I have had a couple people inquire about the game tonight.....as far as we can determine, the game is still scheduled to be played tonight as scheduled.

I attended the recent practice, The team practiced fast breaks out of thansitions for at least 30 minutes.....I didn,t, see one transition fast break in the game, Also, we lost energy in the 2nd half and our inside shooting went in the tank, We simply cannot make tough defended layups. Finally, our coaches are not tough enough with the team. They don,t demand energy, focus, and toughness from their players. This is a bad team and our coaches are unable to change this. Chris R. needs to get involved and make needed changes asap, IMO..

Very disappointing loss. Bradley had control of the game leading 48-34 with about 14 minutes left in the game. Bradley was then were outscored 35 to 16 the rest of the way. 12 of Bradley's first 15 points in the 2nd half came as the results of perimeter jumpers, which MSU was giving Bradley. But then we seemed to change and try to force the ball inside the rest of the way, which never did work. Bradley only had 14 points in the paint in the game.
And, why did Boya play only 2 minutes in the entire game? DaSilva killed us all night inside, and Bar wasn't effective stopping him, and Childs was in foul trouble.
