How is Ari Boya doing in practice? Are we working hard on his offensive skills and footwork? Thus far in games, I don't see very much. We need him as an offensive force inside.

Wiz- I doubt the staff banked on him being a big offensive contributor this year. He is only a Freshman, and Freshman bigs rarely are major offensive contributors. Outside of high 5 star big men, most need time to acclimate and improve, especially at the mid-major level.
Im not worried about his development. Take Bar as a example . Boya looks far better than Bar did as a fresh. He seems to like the baseline spin and strong finish. Bar is turning into a real nice big. Im dissatisfied with the way they have been rotating and blocking shots. Childs Bar and Boya should have alot more blocks. Nice Challenge in Smits tonight. Defense and rebounding starts with these 3 . LVB Brown Childs NK need to do most the shooting. Hopeful we start getting more transition baskets.
Our Coaching Staff does not seem to be able to develop or teach playing skills. I base this opinion on the clear lack of improvement or development of our present players. Virtually all of them are no better now than when they first enrolled at Bradley. Based on this, I don't see how they can develop Ari beyond what he brings to the party now.

You are correct. Ozzie was great at developing players defensively. Joe was tremendous at improving post players. Dick recruited pure shooters but taught them how to shoot off the dribble and off a screen. When Jim Les transfered here he wasn’t a great shooter, he was good but wasn’t great. Between Dick’s coaching and Jim’s work ethic he became an NBA 3 Point champion. With Wardle depending so much on foreign players (almost half the team), maybe there isn’t an emphasis on fundamentals in other countries. Also, it would be interesting to see what Bradley’s second half shooting is at home. When the arena first opened, both end zones were open with nothing but concrete. It was a horrible shooting background because of depth perception. Since Bradley came up with the goofy idea of eliminating almost 800 seats and opening that area up with a few tables and chairs, the background could be a problem once again.
