Flashbacks of a geno ford team. What an embarrassing effort.

This was a hard game to watch. There is no leadership on the floor. I thought that maybe some talent would show up tonight after several poor home games, but I believe there are some deeper issues. Ben Jacobson made sure Brown and Childs were guarded well and they were shut down. Boya makes a lot of mistakes still and will likely not contribute much this season. If this team doesn't improve soon, they will likely be in the MVC tournament playing on Thursday.

I listened to the Wardle "post game" show with Dave Snell - and wrote as many of Wardle's comments down and hopefully I get the order Wardle comments correct - (1) Don't like the teams attitude (2) not rotating defensively (3) no execution (4) UNI made 3's (5) play tougher (6) Dave Snell then mentioned Offensive Rebounds and Wardle agreed (7) getting quiet ( 8 ) everyone - each player - doing their own thing (9) all between the ears (10) mentality (11) execute better (12) not playing well at home (13) confidence is gone (14) play tougher (15) fighting against each other in the huddles (16) Wardle "I'm trying to be as positive as I can at this time" - during the post game show. **** As stated by others on the Bradley Chat site by other chatters during the game - Ben Jacobson totally outcoached Wardle. It's coaching to have 4 UNI players under the basket taking away Bradley offensive rebounds, It's coaching that teaches quickness and puts in quicker players who go around Bradley's players. It's coaching that teaches those who should not be shooting - not to shoot.... The TV announcers hit on quite a few things - lack of offensive rebounds - wrong people shooting - a quicker team - 4 UNI team members under the basket looking for rebounds. And UNI's choice of shots were much better than Bradley's.... I wonder if Jacobson realizes - stop Darrell Brown and you stop Bradley - don't know - but Darrell only scored 2 points... Totally out coached - totally outplayed.... My apologies - but I have better things to do than to watch Bradley play at Indiana State this Saturday even though Indiana State is loosing BIG to Loyola right now 61 -23 (11:53 remaining in the 2nd). Indiana State will have something to prove at their home this Saturday - and I don't care to watch.... I'm totally deflated and in shock after what Bradley did do at the Cancun classic... and where they're at now. ….

That zone we play is atrocious. We don’t have the players to cover the amount of space that’s left open. Can’t move as fast as the ball does. It’s not a wonder UNI shot 45% from three with the quality of shots we gave up.

Bradley shot 37.5% and just 29.4% from three on their home court against the worst team in the MVC (not my opinion, UNI's NET was 267- by far the worst in the MVC). Suddenly, Bradley is a terrible shooting and rebounding team. Other coaches are going to copy the defense Ben Jacobson played tonight, and it might be hard to win any games going forward. UNI double-teamed Brown and Childs, and challenged anyone else to score. Yet we failed to make any in-game adjustments and played the same offense until the final buzzer. Bradley was outplayed and outcoached big time.

Armon Brummett was 0-6 in the game. He was 1-9 (11%) coming into the game. He is now 1-15 (6.7%). Pittman was 0-3. he is now shooting 37% from the field. Why not try to get shots for the better shooters?

I am not ready to write off this season, but we know this team is capable of playing much better than tonight. We just need to figure out how.

This was about as bad as I have ever seen a Bradley team play. Again, no energy or intensity...Players looked like they almost could care less. Our offense continues to be non-existant....Slow, no fast breaks, bad passes, players looked confused. Somehow, we cannot set up an open player for a good shot. Little movement away from the ball. Substitution patterns were bad....No one could stay in long enough to get into the rythem of the game. And finally.....While I hate to say it, we were clearly out coached in almost every aspect of the game. Our coaches seem befuddled and don't seem to understand how to handle, motivate, enthuse, and "fire up" good players. This season is a total bust and we clearly will play on Thursday in St. Louis. Chris Reynolds has some work to do!

January 31, 2017 (ALMOST A YEAR AGO) - was the date BRADLEY defeated Loyola of Chicago 69 - 67 and was the last time Loyola of Chicago loss a game until the NCAA Final 4 semi-final against Michigan on March 31st - a undefeated 2 month stretch for Loyola of Chicago. My point that I also mentioned during today's chat room chatter - Last years Jan 2018 Bradley Braves could beat this years Jan 2019 Bradley Braves. The only real difference is Donte Thomas who definitely was a leader but in my view not the real reason.... Some how this team has "not" progressed - but has actually regressed - and the question is how and why and may never be totally answered. Anyway - Wardle and team have 17 more games to hopefully make "some" progress... Hopefully so....

It feels like waaay more than low confidence or poor attitudes may be going on... I think there’s potentially some non- basketball type personal crisis or something going on.

But if not, then to me the most glaring thing I can see is that our best players (DB, EC, NK) are all severely introverted and none are assuming floor leadership roles. Call huddles, get pissed, rally the troops, refuse to lose. I see none of that these past 5-6 games. None. You can’t put a value on that.

At this point, if I were Wardle, I’d hand select the leader and/or change out the team captains (if we have any). I’d tell them I expect them to lead verbally on the floor during the game. I’d love it to be DB, but I don’t see him wanting that role for whatever reason. Childs would be my choice.

It could be a bad combination of Wardle being slightly overbearing and our key players being too introverted... but that to me is the biggest thing we’ve lacked ever since Wardle came on.

we have the time, talent, staff, and support to turn this around.

                  Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I'm struggling to come up with anything to say about this game as well as where we are as a team right now. I know everyone, from the players, coaching staff and fans are all frustrated. To the players it might be time to look in the mirror and decide what kind of team you want to be as well as taking stock in what kind of player you want to be as well. To the coaches I know you have a certain way of doing things. Might be time to change it up. To the fans I know it's hard not to get down on this team with the way they are playing right now. We can only react to what we see and right now it's bad. The bottom the line is this needs to turn around soon or I'll be using by Thursday night Arch Madness ticket to watch the Braves.

We are not as good as advertised. We still make the same mistakes we made four years ago. We still don’t have any pure shooters. The really good teams have two players that can hit the three off the dribble and two that can catch and shot it. That’s the way the game is played now. After four years we have zero that can either of those on a consistent basis. All you need is any combination of two of them to win the Valley. the woes of this team will be spun many ways. From blaming the prior administration, to illness, to just one more year and who knows what else. The coaches work hard. So do the fans that are paying to support this team that once again is disappointing at best. The Valley is weak and so are we. No amount of hype but only results will get the bad taste out of peoples mouth. The scouting report is clearly out on the Braves and we had no answer for adjusting to it, whether in coaching or talent.

It is time for us to realize we are a mediocre program in a mediocre league. Nothing more, nothing less. Until we start winning in a convincing and consistent fashion against at best, average teams, we will be mired where we are. We are four years into a rebuild and still make the same mistakes and have many of the same weaknesses and excuses we had four years ago. It is what it is.

Why the big secret on Jaden and JaShon? Fans want to know things like this. No transparancy on our program from Wardle. He said nothing significant in his after game radio interview. The players are down, the fans are down, the PJS is down. The coach sets the stage for all of this and right now, we are totally in the tank with no answers.

A lot of good and to the point feedback. For those viewing this topic and provided feedback responses may want to consider converging under the shocking and wake up call topic "Fire Wardle ASAP". I added my 2 cents under that topic and a lot shared feedback here has similar feedback under the Fire Wardle topic. Hopefully we'll see you and your continued feedback there.

would like to know what gets discussed at HyVee at the coach's radio show...
it wouldn't be productive to unload on the players - when every single player performed poorly, there's definitely more to the story
