t.... I know that you have attended several practices as have I. Just because a practice is "intense" does not mean it is teaching the right things. For example, we emphasize spacing and positioning in our offenses but we do not seem to teach the need for speed, fast breaks, or a tough attacking offense. We have the personnel to be a very fast team that could fast break and attack in a way that could be very hard for an opponent to slow down or stop. BUT< we don'really take advantage of this. Instead, our offenses are slow coming down the court, our passes are lazy and not crisp, and our movement away from the ball is not very good. These are things that need to be taught in practice scrimmages. I also remember Versace on the court sidelines with his whistle and loud voice stopping scrimmages to correct mistakes and demand that we attack our opponent with quickness and toughness. How often have you seen Brown and/or D Lo fast break and move the ball quickly and crisply verses slow, lazy passes off a slo-down offense. Our coaches need to rethink how we can use the talent we have to create fast, exciting offenses that better fit the skill levels of our personnel.
