Grand Canyon University beat UNI in Cedar Falls, 73-62. GCU played without Illinois grad transfer Michael Finke, who sustained a foot injury in their last game.
UNI continues to get very little production from their big men- a total of just 8 points in the paint for the game, and only 5 points & 6 rebounds total for all their forwards combined.
Meanwhile GCU scored 32 points in the paint, outrebounded UNI 41-30
And Valparaiso shot poorly and were pummelled at Texas A&M 71-49. Texas A&M pulled away early, lead by as much as 22 points in the first half, and maintained a big lead throughout the 2nd half, leading by as much as 26 points.
The MVC was 1-2 Wednesday night to make their overall record for the season 50-51 against D1 opponents.
They currently rank 13th among D1 conferences, and are the only conference among the top 16 with a losing record against D1.
