  • Jim Les back in Illinois!

    Hello Braves Nation!
I'm Anthony Sperando, former Bradley Red Sea president ('12-'16) and now currently work at Northern Illinois Unversity as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Game Experience for Athletics. We will be hosting UC Davis on Wednesday, December 5th at 7 PM. As many of you know, Jim Les is the head coach of the Aggies. This will be Jim's first game in the state of Illinois in quite a while and I thought it would be really cool to have a Bradley contingent in attendance.
The Braves do not play that evening, so there is no competition for attendance.

If you are interested in coming up to DeKalb and want to get a group together, we offer a $5 ticket for groups of 15 or more.
Please give myself a call (815-753-0800) or shoot me an email at asperando@niu.edu if you would like to purchase or want more information.

(Also, can the Braves beat a Horizon League team this year?! )

JIm's UC Davis team is rebuilding this season after having tremendous success the last 4 seasons. UC Davis won 2 conference regular season championships (2014-15 and 2017-1, one Big West Tournament Championship (2017), an NCAA bid and a win in the first round (2017 NCAA Tournament), along with two NIT bids(2015 & 201 in just the last 4 seasons.
When Jim took over at UC Davis in 2011, it was possibly the worst and least athletic Division I program in the country. They had never even come close to posting a winning record in their D1 history, I predicted at that time that Jim would win a conference championship and take UC Davis to the NCAA before Bradley ever recovered and won anything after the disastrous moves made by our administration in 2011. There were people who laughed at me, and even quoted my prediction in their signatures to mock me. But I guess I got the last laugh on those losers, since my prediction turned out 100% right. Unfortunately, as a result of the ignorance and incompetence of the administration then, along with their clueless supporters, Bradley has suffered through many years of bad seasons and may still not be ready to ascend to the level needed to make it to the NCAA in year 8- post JG & MC.

I know of a lot of Peorians who are making the trip to DeKalb. Jim is still liked and respected by most Bradley fans. And despite his poor start to this season (they are just 2-6, though their Strength of Schedule is substantially better than Bradley's), the UC Davis fans are happy he is there.

The last time UC Davis played in Illinois was about 4 years ago on December 9, 2014. There were a lot of Bradley fans there, including a bunch from Chicago. UC Davis beat EIU 80-70.

UC Davis lost a tough one in overtime to CSU Fullerton 75-71. UC Davis had 2 chances in the last :07 to win it in regulation. They were just 1-5 in OT, had a couple of costly turnovers and missed FT's. They end their season at 11-20.
