There is a little news regarding Matt Roth's summer AAU team, the Indiana Elite, and maybe even Matt himself.
The players on the Indiana Elite are being heavily recruited by an ex-Hoosier, Steve Alford.
Matt Roth has been receiving some interest from Alford, and the Iowa Hawkeyes have already secured a couple of the Elite's best players. Roth plays on the 16U Elite team.
Two players from the 17U Elite have already given committments to Alford.
-Dariese Gary is a combo guard, and will be at Iowa in the fall of 2007
-7-foot center Beas Hamga took a visit to Iowa this weekend and has also now committed to Iowa for fall of 2008!
-other top players from the Elite who have visited Iowa or who are considering Iowa are DeAndre Liggins, Bryan Bouchie, and Matt Roth according to sources who were in Iowa this weekend at Steve Alford's Hawkeye Basketball Camp.
Matt Roth's 16U Elite teammate Lewis Jackson is the subject of a DePaul Rivals subscription article today.
"Lewis Jackson: Eyeing DePaul"
"Lewis Jackson is doing the opposite when it comes to DePaul and his recruiting: DePaul University is has not actively pursued him, but the 5'9" "do everything" point guard is actively pursuing DePaul University.
After averaging 13.4 points, 7.2 assists and 3 steals for Eisenhower High School in Decatur, Illinois, he has continued his success with the Indiana Elite, where he averages 18 points and 8 assists for the 25-3 team.
...........Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Stanford, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Illinois State, Bradley, Northern Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, UNLV, Wisconsin, and Boston College are a few of the colleges that are contacting me", states Jackson."
