But WLS is a clear-channel(no other radio stations allowed to use that frequency), 50,000 watt station, and there are only a handful of them in the entire country.

I am certain that Chicago ESPN Radio (AM1000) can be clearly heard throughout Ohio+ more clearly than Peoria on most nights (It seems their antenna is "Tuned" to the east) Growing up in PA, my dad used to regularly pickup Chicago AM1000 with a decent antenna.

Now if the 96.5 deal could at least include 1 or 2 simulcasts on the Chicago AM1000...
I used to do a lot of traveling for work and can recall hearing am1000 into the far east side of Ohio. And can also recall not picking up 1470 after Lincoln and before Galesburg.

This station needs to put out more power so B.U. can be heard at least 1oo miles out; espn 1000 is hard to listen to in Peoria .

I don't know about anyone else, but I hope that this station can make it. 96.5 is all that I listen to anymore. I remember some years back when 1290 was sports talk radio. I really missed it while it was gone, but now i am constantly locked in on 96.5.

Just don't count on it to provide up-to the minute scores..

It was funny that after work on Wednesday, on 1470, I heard the Cubs won 12-1. A few minutes later, I switched to 96.5 and on the national sports update (had to be national because they led off with the Boston game, they said the Cubs were up by 4 in the 4th inning
