  • More sleazy NCAA connections

Here is a story about an agent who represents a couple Div I college coaches, and is close firends with many more. He also is closely involved in running a successful AAU program that turns out many Div I prospects every year. And some of those recruits end up with the coaches he represents and is friends with. Because he is the agent for these coaches, he obviously stands to benefit financially from their success.
Many other coaches feel this is unfair, and a clear conflict of interests that the NCAA should deal with.

But the NCAA is probably just too busy pretending to be the Mascot Gestapo. Unfortunately, this guy is probably not the only person doing this. This takes what Sonny Vaccaro did for years to another level.

Wilbon on his show about said this about the NCAA police, "They are like Barny Fife!" which Tony Kornheiser said,"No, more like Plaxico Burres, they will shoot themselves in the foot." Everyone knows they will do whatever they want and not necassary what is right. The problem is there is not a one thing anyone can do about it unless they truly do something really stupid where the feds get involved. There are really no checks or balance with the NCAA.
