  • Rick Majerus gets another 2008 committment

St. Louis University coach Rick Majerus received a verbal committment yesterday from a 5th class of 2008 recruit.
Brian Conklin is a 2-star, 6'8" power forward from North Eugene High in Oregon. Conklin is the fifth member of SLU???‚¬?„?s recruiting class for the 2008-09 season. The other 4 are point guard Kwamain Mitchell, shooting guard Femi John, power forward Willie Reed and center Brett Thompson.
St. Louis now has the maximum of 13 scholarship players who will be there in 2008. However, Majerus still wants Matt Roth. It seems that one of their incoming freshmen for 2007 (Paul Eckerle) has only been guaranteed a scholarship for his 1st year, so that may open 1 additional scholarship for 2008.

With all these new incoming recruits, there isn't any way for all of them to get much playing time. I have to agree with those here who have suggested that Matt Roth will be redshirting his first year there.

This stumps a lot of Bill fans.
Majerus is recruiting at the midmajor level but to keep up with schools like Xavier George Washington , and Dayton he needs to do better than a lot of 1 and 2 star recruits.
Conklin is 2-star, Femi John is 1-star, Reed is 2-star, and even Matt Roth is just 2-star.
