Even the "big boys" know they are battling Bradley for Shumpert
Chicago Hoops reports that MU target Iman Shumpert is having a strong showing at the LeBron James Skills Academy. Shumpert's every move is...

More verbage on Iman from yet another insider report:

"Shumpert was outstanding in the afternoon session, draining three-pointer after three-pointer and working his way into the interior for scores. However, he was played a passive game in the night session and was a non-factor. We will be watching him closely on Monday.

Iman Shumpert has a host of schools on his list including North Carolina, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Marquette, Bradley, Notre Dame and Connecticut. All but North Carolina and Connecticut have offered, and Shumpert stressed that he is wide open at this point."

ESPN writer Andy Katz reports from the LeBron Skills Academy in Akron.
This column mentions Bradley as one of only 7 midmajor schools to have coaches in attendance. There were 2 Non-Div I coaches, and 145 coaches from Major schools.

Bob Huggins wasn't too comfortable Saturday as he recruited for West Virginia at his old stomping grounds in Cincinnati. But he's settling in nicely in Morgantown, writes Andy Katz.

Just got done reading that as well. It's awesome to see that the coaches were there fighting against the so-called big timers.

now a NEW premium story seems to be coming out every single day!

The latest from Dave Telep (scout/Insider)

            says this:

            "Five Coaches Eyeballing Guard"

            Then lists......."Bradley head coach Jim
            Les
, Clemson head coach Oliver Purnell, Notre Dame
head coach Mike Brey, Georgia Tech head coach Paul Hewitt, and

Well I always had a ray of hope until now. The way he talks about UNC, I think now that they offered he is likely to go there. Unless his parents say they want him to stay in the midwest I think he'll end up out east.

Being a Duke fan (Bradley comes first of course) I can honestly say that I despise UNC. The only player that has ever come from there who I do like is of course MJ.

Iman Shumpert to UNC...I don't like it one bit. Come down to Peoria Iman, see how much you love it, how much the fans will love you, and how far you can take a school with such a rich basketball history . When is he planning on visiting here again?

If your trying to convince him NOT to go to UNC, but to come to Bradley instead, I don't think I would use "rich basketball history" to try and sway him.

Thats a shame, I thought we might have an outside chance to make him a Brave. He would be such a good addition, not only in the fact that he is a great Ball Player, but that he seems to be a standup kinda guy. His skills and character would make him a fan favorite, and with hard work(which he seems to be no stranger to) he could be the next Hersey or POB.

I'm glad he picked up the offer from UNC for his sake. But I think that aura he thinks is at UNC can now only be found at smaller schools. The majesty that came with big-time programs has now turned into a win-at-all costs, look at UK, KU, IU, UNC etc. Duke is the only program that seems to maintain it's integrity, and I hate them. I hope he understands that what College Basketball is all about, he can find right here in Peoria, playing for BU.

Well we'll see what happens. I'm holding a strong hope that he decides to come to Bradley, but if he chooses UNC that's up to him. Every interview reinforces my belief that he's a classy young man with his head on straight, and as such, I'll be a fan wherever he ends up.

As of now we still have a chance, and that's a great thing. Shumpert hasn't said he is going to visit there has he? Just because he has picked up another offer doesn't mean all that much if he doesn't visit there. All we know is that he will still visit Bradley which gives us a great chance, and this just shows that much more about how the program is progressing.

Look what the fans on the UNC board think of Iman Shumpert (the #15 ranked player in the nation)

They call him a fall back option!!
They really don't want him, they just want him on the bench to stockpile the best players whether they play of not.

                            "UNC offers IMAN SHUMPERT
Roy texted him with offer... Shumpert says he's going to visit Chapel hill"

                            then

"nice offer. good to have fallback options with that kind of talent"

DID YOU HEAR THAT, IMAN, DEAR?

                              F-A-L-L-B-A-C-K option.

                              Are you feeling the love?

                              Yea, thought not.

Hey-- here's a report from a premium source that is interesting.......

Iman Shumpert's back-court mate at Oak Park is a kid named Daniel Barnes.
Hardly anyone even knows the name because the kid is a victim of serious overshadowing.

                                But Daniel Barnes is GOOD!
Barnes was at the Reebok Rbk U Camp in Phiiy this past week, and here are the comments on him:

"......don't be surprised to hear more about Illinois combo guard Daniel Barnes. Teammates with Iman Shumpert in high school, Barnes is a lot like his home town running mate. The 6-foot-3 knows his position well, runs a proficient game in the backcourt and when it's time to bring out the big guns, he will. On Sunday morning, the class of 2008 guard scored an impressive 21 points and hit on three three-pointers and got into the lane for five rebounds."

                                and

"Lefty Danny Barnes was one of the only bright spots for the Wolves. He slashed and made enough outside shots to be the energy guy"

Maybe Jim Les can offer a package and land a couple combo guards!!
