As a member of the pep band, I just wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful compliments from all the fans at every game, pep rally, and gathering we've played at over the past few weeks. I also don't want my post to come across as a way to transfer the spotlight from the Braves to the band, because as band members - we are fans first, and proud to have the opportunity to support our Braves in such a unique way.
I just wanted to clear up a few comments I read throughout the board. Some people mentioned that the Bradley Band was not as loud as the other bands - this is because the Bradley Band is positioned in front of the fans and plays toward the opposing teams fans. And also, the opposing teams band plays toward the Braves fan section, and therefore sounds louder.
Furthermore, the Kansas, Pitt, and Memphis bands have the resources for new and expensive instruments and create their basketball band out of their marching bands, which are very talented. Bradley does not draw a large number of extremely talented musicians because we do not have a marching band, so it was just as tough for us to go up against bigger bands, as it was for the Braves to face off against Memphis.
There was no better way to end the year than having the opportunity to travel with the Braves to their NCAA appearances!
