But one of the kids Bradley was after, Leon Powell, was the star at Vashon last year.
ISU's Bobby Hill is also from Vashon.
Also-- just less than a year ago, Vashon fired their last coach amid rumors of financial shenanigans and overspending...
The issue with the latest coach that got fired, however, seems to his hiring, instead of hiring someone already inside the system.
Then the amount they negotiated to pay ex-NBA'er Bonner triggered some anger in certain circles, and the old coach Floyd Irons is apparently pursuing legal efforts to get the job back.
Not that it matters....but here's another twist...
based on a complaint from another school, the MSHSAA (equivalent of our IHSA) is in the midst of an investigation that seems to show:
Vashon...."appeared to have fielded teams with at least three ???‚¬??? and sometimes as many as ten ???‚¬??? ineligible players every season dating back to the 1998-99 school year."
This means all their championships may have to be forfeited..
