Creighton's Isacc Miles Transfers to Murray State

After all the talk of wanting to play somewhere closer to home, and all the talk of how he was going to transfer to Missouri,
Isacc Miles ends up at Murray State.

They do have a scholarship........
they just didn't want to offer it to Miles...

Isacc Miles had stated repeatedly that he left Creighton in order to play somewhere closer to home.
In the end he goes to Murray State.

Distance from Murray State to Miles' home in Kansas City = 470 miles/8 hours driving time
Distance from Creighton to Miles' home in KC = 184 miles/under 3 hours driving time

I guess this proves the Danny Granger-rule that whenever a kid says he's leaving to go and play somewhere closer to home, that it's just a smoke screen and is as likely to be a lie as the truth.

Isacc Miles starts at SG for Murray State, but he isn't exactly off to a big start.
He plays as many minutes as the other players, but is only averaging 5 ppg, and 1 reb/gm, and has missed all his 3-pointers.


In a related note...ex-Shocker Sean Ogirri starts and plays a bunch at SG for Wyoming, but in his first couple games, he also isn't shooting that well...
he has launched 13 3-pt attempts and hits 38%, but has 4 turnovers per game and a 5 point win over prairie View A&M is troubling..

I was never really sure about Miles, but I thought w/ the right coaching Ogirri would've been a real talent...

At times he really shot the lights out...I mean w/o him the Shox get blown out by us in the semis in 06...Remembering back, he had to pick up the slack, with Cellus completely shutting down Kyle Wilson to zero points.

In this article, Sean Ogirri says he thinks this year's Wyoming team is better than the Sweet 16 team he was on at Wichita State in 2005-2006, his last year there before he transferred and redshirted at Wyoming--

I know kids like to say stuff like that when they transfer, but it is a little ridiculous. I woill be surprised if this Wyoming team even sniffs the NCAA tournament.
They are coming off a 12-18 record last year, and last night they barely held off Prairie View A&M on their home court--

Their nonconference schedule is as woeful as ISU's, so their chances of getting an at-large NCAA bid look remote, unless they pull an upset of the only decent non-conference team on the schedule, UCLA. And that is not going to happen. Other than UCLA, it's likely that every other non-conference team they play will have an RPI of 200+ by the end of the year.
