Illinois SHOULD be on another recruiting level than BU. But, I don't really think that after the past few years that can be said. If you're an Illinois fan, you should be livid. If you're a BU fan, you shouldn't care, although it means BU is that much closer to taking over as the state's top basketball university. Right now it's SIU, then UIUC, with BU about to overtake them. Hopefully next year we overtake them both!
      Onward and Upward!

Not sure I agree with you here BB. I still think Illinois scores the top recruiting classes in the state...........followed by possibly DePaul (good recruits that don't play well together, or poor coaching, or both), SIU, then BU. I do however think that the gap has narrowed considerably and that we could be number one in any given year (especially with the new athletic facility on the horizon).

Amen, SIU fans would cr@p their pants if they had one recruiting class like UofI's. But SIU, and BU are moving closer quickly. I'm not sure how to rate DePauls recruiting classes, sure they're rated high, but they never perform (towards the end of last year they did look good), so sure based on stars and such, they're great recruiting classes, but I'm sure DePaul would've traded their top guys for POB and Cellus, and when its all said and done, maybe even DRuff and JC.

Shortly after announcing he would attend Kentucky, DeAndre Liggins of Chicago Washington High School announced he was leaving his current school and would enroll at Brewster Academy, a prep school in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. This suggests he may have academic issues to resolve.

I think it's been known for a little while that Liggins wasn't going to Illinois. He recently stated Kansas was his leader and now is going to Kentucky.

That officially qualifies as a meltdown.

I don't like Illinois for two reasons:

a - Fair weather out of the woodwork fans that only care when the Illini are good, but don't feel bad about dissing Bradley.

b - More importantly, they're afraid to play us. I can't respect them for that.

One of my many fave lines from any Illini fan when they are having a rare bad year when Bradley "might" be having a better year... "Oh, you won't go far ."

But they root for Bradley as well.

Liggins may now be going to a prep school in Nevada, but he wouldn't be eligible to play high school ball
at any high school in Illinois. He has been held back twice and is already 20 years old and doesn't qualify as a high schooler.
