  • NBA Draft- Thursday night

The NBA draft is tomorrow night (Thursday).
    NBA draft site--

There are a lot trade rumors heating up prior to the draft--

Here are a few mock drafts--

Here are the players invited to attend the draft. In order to avoid an embarrassing "Brady Quinn" type situation, fewer players have been invited this year, just 14--
CBS Sports features live scoring, news, stats, and player info for NFL football, MLB baseball, NBA basketball, NHL hockey, college basketball and football.

Another interesting twist-- Andy Katz is reporting that the celtics like USC junior guard Nick Young and select him with their #5 pick. Previously, nobody projected Young to go in the top 10, so this would throw everything else off, and may benefit teams like the Bulls (#9 pick).--
Sources say the Suns are trying to acquire the Bobcats' No. 8 pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

Bulls get Joakim Noah, Aaron Gray, and JamesOn Curry. I am happy with the second round, but I do not think Noah is a player that will help the Bulls vary much, next year or at all. I don't see him developing a low post presence, which the Bulls need .

I agree, I think Noah was taken WAY too early and this will make it much harder to root for the bulls over teams like the Jazz and Warriors. Their second round however was very good. I was kinda hoping the Bulls would end up with Afflaflo, that kid is a a leader and in the right situation could really excel.

I was really hoping the Bulls would have taken Spencer Hawes from Washington, because I see Noah as the same type of player as Tyrus Thomas. Gray is soft, but I like the Curry pick, I just hope his bad judgement is behind him.

Curry is bad news and can not play defense at all. This was a bad draft for the Bulls.

Second round pics rarely even make teams so anything you get out of them is a bonus. Don't be too quick to hate on Pax. He's done a GREAT job drafting in the past, and I promise you that he knows more about any of these players than anyone on this board. Kirk was supposed to be too high at #7-that turned out pretty well. Deng and Gordon was a good draft too. Trust in Pax!

I just wish that POB could have been traded.

              Trivia question--

How many college seniors were taken in the lottery picks last night?

              Answer-- only ONE....Acie Law III

There was a time when the draft was ONLY college seniors

My son and I were in Madison Square Garden for the draft last night. We were fortunate to get seats along an aisle that every player walked by after they completed their interview. My son got to high-five each player while Dad took pics.

I was able to observe each player up close and I have to tell you - there is something special about Joakim Noah. As Joakim's fellow Frenchman would say, he has "je ne sais quoi." I think Chicago and Joakim are going to mesh big time.

I like the Noah pick. He's athletic, handles the ball well, a good passer, makes good decisions, and is a serious competitor. Offense isn't everything, and i think he has the defensive capability to stop the other team from scoring points, which is just as good as scoring them himself. the kids smart and I think will fit right in with this Bulls team.

sorry--I misspoke, as I meant to say he was the only senior taken among the lottery picks...and have edited my post.
                        Sorry for the confusion.

But I guess I learned my lesson quoting the PJ Star.

Here is the quote from page D8 of this morning's Peoria Journal Star:

"Law was the only senior selected in the 2007 NBA lottery"

But as ER pointed out, he isn't and that's an error, as Thornton at #14 is also a lottery selection.
                        ..sorry.....

I question his defensive ability, I you watched Noah didn't guard the opposing team big man. If I'm 6 inches taller then the guy I'm guarding I can get blocks, too. Coming to the NBA and playing against athletes and people his own size, IMO, will expose Noah.

Da Bulls already have two big defensive men who cannot score outside of 3 feet.
