Although there's no mention of it on the Redbird board (maybe the ISU fans didn't know their coach was pursuing Tyler),
the premium recruiting services are reporting that
Tyler Storm of Geneseo took an "unofficial visit" to Illinois State and met with head coach Tim Jankovich and assistant
Rob Judson. Here is a quote from their report:
"...Tyler Storm took an unofficial visit to Illinois State University this weekend and met with Redbirds assistant coach Rob Judson and head coach Tim Jankovich.
Storm holds scholarship offers from Albany, DePaul, and Eastern Illinois. He has also received interest from Penn State, Creighton, and Bradley."[/b]
Actually, I saw Tyler Storm and many (if not all) of his Geneseo teammates Saturday night at the IBCA All Star Game.
They were all wearing similar Geneseo T-shirts and having a good time, although the entire crew of them walked past me and out the door when there were still several minutes left in the game, so I think they were trying to get a good head start for the long drive back to Geneseo.
Tyler combined visiting ISU's campus with taking in the IBCA All Star game on the same trip with his coaches and teammates.
Tyler's dad, Brad Storm, is the head boys basketball coach at Geneseo.
PS-- this proves in case anyone doubted, that Jankovich can and will stay in on all the best in-state talent.
This is good for the Valley and will help assure more of Illinois' best talent will possibly stop going to Iowa and Indiana schools.
PPS-- Geneseo also has a 6-4 shooting guard Brian Ashpole, who was at a Bradley game this past season and may have a good enough season in 2007-2008 to gather some D-I interest.
