    It's hard to believe, but next season will be the 20th season since Hersey Hawkins averaged 36.3 points per game to lead the NCAA in 1988. No NCAA player since then has averaged as high!--

    I thought I remembered one player who's average was higher than Hersey's since 1988,
    and indeed, the writer of the above article appears to be wrong.
    I found a list of all the leading NCAA Division I scorers by year since 1970.
    Kevin Bradshaw of U.S. International University lead the NCAA in 1991 with an average of 37.6 ppg,
    which was slightly higher than Hersey's.
