Most of you will remember Paul Bayer....(Class of 2005)
He is a fine kid and a fine player from Moline High School, and Bradley was recruiting him a few years
ago. He was a straight A student in high school, and had some local exposure when Moline
played in the Pekin Tournament and also played at Richwoods.
Then he had some knee injuries (both before and after his senior year), and accepted a scholarship offer to Lehigh.
Then after a disappointing year at Lehigh, where he didn't play, he transferred to Olivet.
Now, sadly, Paul has been diagnosed with a RARE heart defect that will likely end any chance he has of ever
playing competetively again. They liken it to "Hank Gathers" and suggest he would have a chance of
sudeen death if he tried to play, so likely he won't even try.
some other discussions we have had on Bayer.
