Today there is report of yet one more transfer to ISU. The isu board claims another 2-guard, Chamberlain Oguchi, a 4.8 point scorer at Oregon but in Ernie Kent's doghouse has transferred to Illinois State. In 2006-07 he scored 4.8 and hit 31% on FG and 25% on 3-pointers. In 18 Pac-10 games, he hit 30% from the floor and 22% from the arc. His assist to turnover ratio is 0.6 and I don't think any guard on ISU had an A/T ratio that low.

Definitely had a rough year last year. Heard he had a nagging injury that hurt his game and cost him time. Sounds like he had a nice year his sophomore year.
Not sure where the scholarship will be coming from, as all are accounted for at present time. There have been rumors that Holtz or Vandello could be transferring out, or that Bobby Hill has academic issues, but none of those have been confirmed. Would have a hard time believing this kid will be walking on.

That is interesting.
Here is ISU's scholarship grid
Indeed they appear to have no open scholarships for 2007-2008.
So someone is going to get the boot.

And don't forget they're going after Dodie Dunson also.
Here is a ploy I'd use if talking to Matt Roth.
Hey-Matt, did you know that way more than half the minutes played at ISU last year were played by kids who transferred in either from other schools or junior colleges.
Those kids, like you, who were recruited out of high school to ISU barely saw the floor with the exception of Osiris who they seem to want more than most recruits because they're handing out jobs to keep him (something they're not likely to do for Matt Roth.)
And it won't be much different next year as all those transfer guys are back (Boo, Slack, Dom) and the year after since all they have coming in for the future are the transfers.
Go ask the guys like Hill, and Holtz, who are the few guys that came as freshman, and you'll see how much action those guys are getting.
In fact, now even those guys are ones rumored to be booted and replaced by even more transfers.
Jankovich must be taking a page from Ritchie McKay's handbook of how to fill the roster.
So, Matt, head to BU where lots more of the playing time is given to the guys coming in as freshmen like Ruffin, Tauai, Crouch, Danny Adams, etc., and where every player who wants to, seems to stay until he's a senior then he graduates.

But....
I heard Moser was aware of Hills' problems and likely not expected to be back next season, but he went with Hill anyway - as if desperate to win no matter what, with disregard to the real future of the program. (And some ISU people with influence on the program didn't like it)

One other transfer of note....
Sky Frazier of Missouri State, left the team and has now transferred to Missouri-St. Louis, a DII school where he can be eligibble right away for his senior year.

Some Redbird fans believe it is already sealed and that Oguchi is on campus,
but that for some odd reason Tim Jankovich wants to keep it secret.
But this morning there is an article suggesting Oguchi might not transfer and might stay at Oregon.
So how can he do that if he has already transferred and is taking courses at ISU?
"......Chamberlain Oguchi, who announced in the spring he was leaving the Ducks in a quest for more playing time at another school, might return for his senior season at Oregon.
Oguchi did not return a call Friday seeking comment, but apparently he has not yet decided on another school. UO teammates have expressed the opinion that they expect him back at Oregon..."

Here is a story about Kansas city being Transfer City
Seems quite a few KC area kids (and ALL of the top talented kids from the KC area) simply don't stick with
the first school they choose, and Isacc Miles of Creighton is just one of the latest.
(article is four pages long and this link is only to page 1)
Interesting with all the talent they have and have had in the past, the single most notable player they can boast from the
KC area having made it to the NBA is Tyronn Lue!!
Hmmm....maybe college coaches should just forget recruiting that area!!!
I think they spoil their kids rotten (as the article says) and none of them ever develop good work ethic.
Good read.
