I have spoken to a couple people who were at the team camp in Champaign and reviewed a few first hand reports.
Here is a summary of what went on..........
---Washington, MO senior (200 Scott Suggs was widely viewed as the best player there.
"he 6-foot-6 wing prospect was arguably the best player in attendance on this day, showing the ability to score in a variety of ways. Although not a great athlete, he has good quickness and skills. Very long kid that has gained strength over the past year and has very good body control. His spin move makes it very tough for defenders to handle him, and he can use either hand to finish around the hoop.
Matt Humphrey -- Matt Humphrey (Chicago Hales Franciscan) has the build that talent scouts love and a sweet lefty jumper....he showed a better ability to pass and handle the basketball and didn't look like just a stand still shooter. Defensively he is very, very good...
Lewis Jackson (Decatur Eisenhower) Jackson was not expected to play due to his wrist injury, but while sitting on the sidelines during their first game he told his coach he was ready to play. He then proceeded to drain a game winner in Assembly Hall. He showcased his athleticism repeatedly on this day, getting to the basket at will and setting up his teammates. He also did a nice job guarding the bigger Suggs. Questions still remain about his jump shot and size, but Jackson is player that college coaches are lining up to sign.
Joseph Bertrand (Sterling) Bertrand still hasn't figured out how good he could be, but he is beginning to get that swagger that the great players have. When he gains consistency, he will be one of the top players in the country. The 6-foot-4 point guard has great vision and his 3 point shooting is getting better. He gets into the lane when he wants to and he has the size and athleticism to finish, even though he would rather distribute. His crossover dribble is dynamic.
D'Mitri Riggs (Bloomington) Riggs has all of the tools, but sometimes lacks the desire. He is long for a 6-foot-2 guard and has good quickness and can really get after it defensively. He is very left handed and a streaky shooter, but he can really control a game when he wants to.
Ex-BU player Billy Wright's Indianapolis Pike....
"... very impressive. They play hard and really pressure on defense."
Notable no-shows....Verdell Jones (knee injury he suffered while lifting weights on Thursday. Jones is scheduled for an MRI on Monday afternoon), Jeremy Robinson (Decatur Eisenhower) is out until at least July with a torn ACL. Robinson says he will begin playing in July, but is not expected to be 100% until December.
DJ Richardson...had other committments.
(although at least one source says his absence was meant to "send a message".)
