  • New premium story on DJ Richardson

And the news is good news as he seems to still hold Bradley among his favorites.

    Here are some clips:

    "Latest to Offer D.J. Richardson

D.J. Richardson???‚¬?„?s stock keeps rising week after week.
D.J. Richardson already has scholarship offers from Illinois, Indiana, Baylor and Bradley. Now the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has joined the list of schools.

"???‚¬?“My assistant AAU coach talked to me about taking some visits; not too far, but ones I can drive to."
I???‚¬?„?ve been to Bradley because that???‚¬?„?s not too far from my house, and I???‚¬?„?ve taken one to DePaul. I???‚¬?„?ve played at Illinois before too. I???‚¬?„?m not sure which ones I???‚¬?„?m going to visit,???‚¬?? he added.

This weekend is the Illinois Stars Classic which will be held in Peoria, Illinois. Richardson???‚¬?„?s team, the Illinois Stars, plays at 2:40 p.m. against the Chicago Express. ???‚¬?“This weekend will be pretty busy because we???‚¬?„?re having our own tournament."

D.J. is a 6-4 combo guard from Peoria (IL) and is currently ranked here at Scout.com as a four-star recruit."

    And some nice pics:

PS....one extra bonus picture, Matt Roth is on the left:

PPS....more recruiting news...Tyler storm has picked up offers from Albany and Eastern Illinois.
Storm was planning on attending the Bradley and Creighton elite camps in June, but will miss the camps due to a case of mononucleosis.

This site gives the location of the games as--
"Washington High School, 115 Bondurant St., Peoria Acedemy."

115 Bondurant St. in Washington is the address for Washington HS. That must be where the games are. I don't know what the reference to Peoria Academy is.

A new article on the DePaul Scout reports that DJ Richardson skipped a team camp event with his Peoria Central team this past weekend at the University of Illinois campus. Instead, he played in the AAU event in the Peoria area with his AAU team. The article says he is planning to return to Peoria Central for his junior year, despite rumors that he might be transferring.

???‚¬?“It wasn???‚¬?„?t anything against the University of Illinois,???‚¬?? Richardson explained. ???‚¬?“Coach Johnson (AAU coach) really wanted me to be there for the team, because I played for our U-16 and U-17 teams today. I played 10 games.???‚¬?? Richardson further explained that he notified Illinois assistant coach Wayne McClain that he would not be able to make the team camp with his Peoria Central teammates.
Richardson also emphasized that he is firm on plans to return to Peoria Central for his junior season.
Besides offers from Baylor, Bradley, Illinois, Indiana and Notre Dame, the 6-3 guard has also received varying degrees of interest from DePaul, Georgetown, Kentucky, Miami, Ohio State, Purdue, and Virginia.

              Mac...here's one for you...

The top prospect in the state of Indiana is a freshman named DeShaun Thomas.
Kelvin Sampson had just begun to recruit the kid, but there isn't much you can do since coaches cannot call or directly contact kids this young.

Then in a real surprise announcement, DeShaun Thomas announces he is going to Ohio State!
This reportedly really burned and embarrassed Kelvin Sampson, and caused him to degenerate into a tirade with wild curses spewn at Ohio State's coach Thad Matta.

Apparently the one thing that gets Kelvin really ramped up is this idea of an instate kid going to one of his rivals....as you saw with the Eric Gordon fiasco.....so get ready as it is going to start all over again.
Apparently some are expecting a never ending blitz of calls and ploys by Kelvin to get DeShaun to change his mind.
Kelvin believes he entitled to any kid in his state, and come he!! or high water, he won't be denied.

Wow, Kelvin Sampson must have gotten on the phone immediately when he heard that DeShaun Thomas had committed to Ohio State.

Now the kid and his parents are backing off the committment.
