That numerous rumors were all over the boards about Isaac Miles having troubles and being asked to leave the team.
We even had good sources that the rumors were true and that Miles would be ushered out.
Then...............
Head Coach Dana Altman went public last Wednesday and said he will dispel those rumors and said this--
No way he was being honest, in fact he was downright dishonest as he surely knew this was coming.
But it's just another example of trying to hush what people are saying on the message boards.
Personally I am pretty impressed with the accuracy of most of what's on the boards,
so why are these guys so afraid that they lie to stop the talk?
In the end it's Altman who is discredited not the message boards.
As I said in the prior thread that was removed about Miles...
Clearly Dana Altman knew this weeks ago, which is why he desperately went out and signed two more juco guards even though he was going to need a scholarship somewhere.
Who cares if Altman is lieing or telling us the truth. Its HIS team and he has the right to handle it however he wishes. I think the man has a decent track record.
He and Miles are the only ones that now the entire story. So really who cares. Miles is gone...CU will survive.
Altman has proven himself human, but in the end he's a coach that is not going to compromise to a kid that wants to keep breaking the rules.
He resigned from Creighton and signed a contract to coach at Arkansas, then left Arkansas and went back to Creighton, then says he has no trouble with players, and that nobody is going to leave the team, and that rumors of Miles leaving are totally unfounded.
Then 5 days later, Miles leaves the team amid lots of rumors, and violation of team rules that have been going on for a while, so it is likely Altman knew full well there were issues and personnel changes.
But Dana has finally acted "head coachly" by booting the kid.
I admire when a coach sets the rules and players who violate are sent packing.
Sadly we see time and again, even in our own state and elsewhere, where players repeatedly violate rules (McBride, Pierce, Wingate at Tennessee, and Michael Taylor at Iowa State, JR Giddens & Aaron Johnson at New Mexico), get arrested (Michigan team captain Lester Abrams, Giddens, etc.), abuse substances (the entire partying Illini team, Wingate, etc.), get felony arrests and violations (Smith, Pierre Pierce), and even go public with their beefs against the coach (Ogirri, Giddens), and yet the are coddled, welcomed back on the team, given a huge round of applause by the fans, and never disciplined (as in Abrams' case) or given token punishment.
Nobody can say that BU hasn't got the discipline, when a player gets a YEAR penalty for a 1st rules violation and a revoked scholarship for the 2nd violation...and he never broke a law or got arrested!
Would there be enough players left to even field a team at Illinois, and other Big Ten, Big XII, & SEC programs if they employed that kind of discipline?
If they disiplined these kids correctly then most of these problems would not be happening so frequently; the ncaa should step in and set down some guidelines since a lot of schools refuse to and are not doing the student/athletes any favors by not punishing them severe enough .
From the Creighton board, here is the message supposedly left for Bluejay fans by Isacc Miles himself.
FWIW-
"lol you people are fuc... dumb, this is isacc and thanks for all your support and to the real fans not fake ass ones thanks for eveything. i love creighton and the coachs,players and the fans, but if you dont know me do talk about me thanks. i didnt get kick out i left for some reasons. not pot,or takein people things. so to let you know, whatever I go, i will make sure i pay yall a visit in March, if we ever play creighton i will make sure i take it personal to kill anyone on the court,if that mean my old teamates, thanks for everything sorry players its these fake people that dont know ****"
For those who doubt its authenticity, here are a couple posts from the people who believe it is from Miles:

Believe what you want, but there are very few doubters of this message on the board.

I don't know if that fact has ever been made clear, maybe he did or maybe he didn't,
although there are numerous reports that Altman did indeed agree to terms and agreed to become the new head coach at Arkansas.
I have read some who claim he never signed, but he was introduced by the top dogs at Arkansas during a big-time press conderence as the new head coach, with the presumption of it being signed and sealed.
I would welcome any definitive evidence on this, as I have not seen any.
