I am wondering if this means Merfiled is a no go. I am not worried because I can think of a lot of potential assistant coaches that would be great. I am kind of confused why it is taking so long though. Anyone have any idea how long it may be before they announce a new hiring?

Maybe they have filled the position and are waiting to see how long the secret can be kept this time.

Les and Eric Buescher both now have 5 years of experience, though they didn't when they were hired. Lennox Forrester had been an assistant at D1 for 10 years when he was hired. But the requirements can be different for each position.
The posting on that internet site was made on May 11th. I believe the government's equal hiring laws require that the position be advertised for minimum number of days before the spot is filled (somewhere between 14-21), so expect an announcement after the holiday.Comment

I would assume that Merfeld must be out of the running now that Eric has been promoted to associate head coach. I would not think a coach with D-1 Head Coaching experience would accept a position other than Assoc Head Coach. Any other opinions ?houstonbraveComment
