Its interesting that everyone has been high on Will Egolf while most of us believe Anthony Thompson will need to red shirt next year and will not contribute if he plays. If you look at the entire list Anthony has the second highest grade of anyone we are looking at in any year, only behind Devin Hill who is rated the 9th best PF in the class of 2008. Anthony is rated the 29th best Center coming out nationaly in 2007 well ahead of anyone else we coming in. I wonder if we or at least I have underestimated what this kid could do for us. It should also help his progress practicing every day against Collins. Anthony could be one of the higher rated recruits coming into the MVC.

i think the whole AT thing goes back to the fact that these sites rate players by the schools that are recruiting them. if you look at some info on AT, u'll see that he was getting looks from some big texas schools like texas a&m. will egolf on the other hand was not recruited nearly as much.

I have heard that he is signed. Don't believe everything these sites say. A couple examples--
They list Guy Alang Ntang as being one of Wichita State's recruits. In fact, they list him twice, as Guy Alang-Ntang, and as Guy Ntang.

He is the young man who unfortunately died a couple months ago while playing in a pick-up game. So if they list a dead guy, and list him twice, I wouldn't take their listings too seriously.
They rate Will Egolf very low. These are based on Scout.com's rankings, and Scout didn't even know about Will until after he signed with Bradley. They now have him as a 2-star recruit, but he is better than that.
Also, they give 2008 recruit Iman Shumpert the lowest possible grade (40). He was just upgraded to a 5-star recruit!

If you look at what the ratings mean, a 40 apparently just means they haven't completed their evaluation yet.
40: Pending Prospect
Player has redeeming qualities and is projected to contribute at the Division I level, however an evaluation is pending receipt of requested film from coach and player.
A grade in the 80s (i.e. AT) means "Outstanding Prospect -
Player has the ability to create mismatches against most opponents. He is a player that could be a contributor as a true freshman."
The explanations of the grades is here:

So are we underestimating what Anthony could contribute next year??????
He is 6'10", he can run the floor, he has a ton of upside if he stays at BU for 4 years...but he is woefully thin at this point, and he is going to need to add a lot of bulk before he will be able to do anything in the post at the Division I level.
I only saw him play once when he was here in Peoria...but he was matched up with Beas Hamga in that game and he was completely overmatched physically...(Hamga may be 3 years older than AT, so I guess it is understandable that he had a physical advantage).
I think the potential for him to have a good career is certainly there...someone on the BU staff just needs to lock him and Will Egolf in the weight room from the first day they arrive on campus....

There is also no mention of Matt Roth anywhere... Even with other schools that are interested in him.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
